FBI Raids Assemblyman Bill Scarborough’s Office

Federal agents today raided the Albany and city offices of Queens Democratic Assemblyman Bill Scarborough, the FBI confirmed this afternoon.
 
“The FBI conducted searches today of the Albany and New York City Offices of New York State Assemblyman William Scarborough,” FBI Albany spokesman Paul Holstein said in a statement. “At this time, no further information is being released.”
 
A spokeswoman for the bureau’s city office said the search was conducted as part of “an ongoing FBI investigation,” but declined to discuss whether any items were removed, what specifically agents were looking for, or the nature of the investigation.
 
Reporters at the Capital spotted boxes — sealed with yellow tape and marked “evidence” — being carried out of Mr. Scarborough’s legislative office in Albany, according to Capital Tonight.
 
Mr. Scarborough told reporters at an impromptu press conference that federal prosecutors showed up at the Howard Johnson hotel where he was staying early this morning and said they were looking into whether he had abused his travel expense account, according to video posted by Politics on the Hudson.

Supposedly, this guy is one of the worst on his travel expense reports.  But, his 'constituents' will keep re-electing 'representatives' like this.

From my experience as a Federal employee, travel expense is the most abused by public employees. Even the lowest level employee does it as a "deserved perk". On the road, local transportation and meals are inflated so long as receipts aren't required. There's never a shortage of volunteers for TDYs. Probably not over ten percent of expense reports are honest.

This guy is just a city government official, it's kind of surprising the FBI would be the primary agency on it.  I suspect this grows out of some larger-scale RICO or other kind of network-crime investigation.

Rush was speculating as to why the flurry of raids on dems.  He thinks it might be the head honchos in the democrap party want to clear out the bad apples in time for November.

They're getting the crooked Dems out of the way right now, but they'll wait until October and bring out some investigations against republicans that have been going on is my guess.

the FBI won't waste it's time. They know those two are above the law. All the rats doing the perp walk are low totem pole types: useful idiots. The real corrupt types will point to this and say, "Look. We cleaned out our party, lets see the GOP do this as well."

What bugged me about Bush was he was such a gentleman. We need a real firebrand to clean up after Obama. Holder needs to go to jail. As does many of the obama appointees.
