Bring out the.. :dozer: :dozer:

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Something jumped right out at me on the Kent State thread.  The similarities to Benghazi.

3. 4 dead in Ohio...

And no one ever paid for it.
Except for that poor sap that made the youtube video.

10. A field day for speculation-lovers. I'll wait until we have all the facts.

**HEAVY SARCASM**
The primitive meant it sarcastically but wasn't that pretty much word for word Barry's excuse for dragging his feet on Benghazi?

We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again.

I was nearby when that happened.

The most commonly asked question from normal people was, "Why did they cease fire?"

I was still a kid, and so I'm not sure of the exact detail, but I think everybody might remember that photograph of a girl kneeling down by a downed protestor.

I think she was the one identified as being 16 years old.

I recall one of the local physicians asking what the Hell a 16-year-old kid was doing on a college campus rocked with riots instead of being back home in school.

A good question, I always thought.

That picture was likely photoshopped just a bit.

I thought they said she was a 14 year old run away?

I was a kid a long time ago; I could be mistaken in the exact comment.

But I do remember the girl was most definitely not of college age.

And so the question remains; what the Hell was she doing there?

Hired protesters and child labor, it's the liberal way.

That's right.

When they started burning buildings on campus, all kinds of weirdos, misfits, and anarchists came streaming in from all over the country.

Most members of the howling mobs had never attended Kent State. They were like occupoopers, but much more violent.

In the days, weeks, and months after the riots I honestly don't recall hearing a single person locally who was critical of Governor Rhodes or the Guard.

That was only on the network news, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. In 1970 that was the extent of the national news media.

Locally, some may have been upset if the Guard had used napalm or machine guns, but it would not have been unanimous.

It's funny how you never hear about the riots and burned buildings at Kent State. Only the poor innocent hippies.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

My father and I were watching the evening news when we heard about "Kent State."  I was eleven years old at the time.  I distinctly remember my Dad saying, "It's a shame they didn't get more of the traitorous SOBs."  This from a man who voted for Hubert H. Humphrey (The last time my father ever voted D.)

Man, 14 year olds sure looked more mature back then. Maybe it's because she's such a big girl. Still, there are consequences to throwing a tantrum whether you're 2 or 20. The biggest mistake back then was treating those kids like spoiled brats! I know their parents lived through WWII and many through the depression as well and wanted to make the lives of their children easier, but the created a bunch of liberal monsters who feel entitled to everything. Were it my child, I'd tell them to shape the hell up or I'd cut off their college funds...and then do it. Granted, there were plenty of parents who did have high expectations for their children and disciplined accordingly (my husband's parents did) but just enough didn't and it led to the world we have today. They became a generation of parents who were/are mostly selfish, spoiled, angry and unavailable. The example they set and their lack of values and self discipline created 0bama and his ilk.
