What fossil fuels are they freeing themselves from? Right now parts of Europe are quaking in their boots that Putin might shut off the flow of gas.

The American legal system and its maze of crazy environmental regulations has made more nuclear power as unavailable as perpetual motion.

Today's legal system makes any significant new energy development nearly impossible. Can you imagine trying to build the TVA system in 2014? The only possible source of energy now is adding capacity to existing generating plants.

One country made significant progress in "getting off fossil fuel" clear back in the 70s. That would be Cambodia during the Pol Pot regime.

Our thousands of acres of whirligigs and solar panels are scams to soak up public funds, nothing else.
