Aerows (22,207 posts) Health care costs in the US are completely reasonableRaccoon bite, rabies series? $18,000. I shit you not. I was walking, didn't spend a day in the hospital, just got injected with bad shit in the emergency room and got shots that took a total of five minutes apiece.
Aerows (22,207 posts) 8. Oh, and icing on the cake?My insurance has refused to cover it. I'm officially ****ed.
rurallib (33,927 posts) 9. I thought under the ACA they had to cover stuff like thisof course they must have exit doors every where.
Aerows (22,207 posts) 10. This is insurance before the ACAI think I'm just screwed. If it was 4 or 5 thousand, I would handle it, no problem. I can't do 18,000 though.
I think that Israeli bulldozers are cute and snugly. If you stand behind them then you get warm from their exhaust.
What do you feed them ?
My only regret is that the bill didn't have another 0 next to it. 180,000 would put the Dummy out of his house..
Aerows (22,208 posts) 13. My jaw has been on the floor since I opened both$18,000. I spent maybe an hour in the ER, nothing special, didn't get anesthesia or anything, just horrible crap injected into my hand. I then spent about ten minutes for the next five shots. Like I said, I'm stunned. And yes, my insurance company is balking and refuses to pay.
Vaccination After an ExposureAnyone who has been bitten by an animal, or who otherwise may have been exposed to rabies, should clean the wound and see a doctor immediately. The doctor will determine if they need to be vaccinated.A person who is exposed and has never been vaccinated against rabies should get four doses of rabies vaccine - one dose right away, and additional doses on the third, seventh and fourteenth days. They should also get another shot called Rabies Immune Globulin at the same time as the first dose.A person who has been previously vaccinated should get two doses of rabies vaccine - one right away and another on the third day. Rabies Immune Globulin is not needed.http://www.vaccines.gov/diseases/rabies
In the United States, patients receive one dose of ''human rabies immunoglobulin'' (HRIG) and four doses of rabies vaccine over a fourteen day period. The immunoglobulin dose should not exceed 20 units per kilogram body weight. HRIG is very expensive and constitutes the vast majority of the cost of post-exposure treatment, ranging as high as several thousand dollars. As much as possible of this dose should be infiltrated around the bites, with the remainder being given by deep intramuscular injection at a site distant from the vaccination site. The first dose of rabies vaccine is given as soon as possible after exposure, with additional doses on days three, seven and fourteen after the first. Patients that have previously received pre-exposure vaccination do not receive the immunoglobulin, only the post-exposure vaccinations on day 0 and 3.http://www.news-medical.net/health/Rabies-Treatments.aspx
Sounds like DUmmy got all of the shots at once. Could be that he'll drop off in the dead file. Dunno.Hmmm, does he have Obamacare insurance?
She said her insurance wouldn't pay because it was considered an act of god or something like that.Sounds like she didn't have insurance and tried to file it with a homeowners policy.
It certainly was an act of God... He's tired of the Dummies perverting his message.
Yeah, remember that moonbat woman who decided to go swimming with the cute and noble polar bear?
We are on a collision course.
