I got the Amber Alert on my phone, but apparently it didn't go out as fast as they wanted it to. By the time the alert went out, it looks like she may have already been dead.
I can't fault the Amber Alert system, though. Springfield is small enough that you can drive all the way across town in around 20 minutes. He didn't have far to travel.
I see I made a word salad in my post. Sorry about that.
From what I read, witnesses to the abduction got the license plate and descriptions of vehicle and abductor and called the police. Police tracked the plate and went to vehicle owner's home. Parent's that owned the vehicle said son had the truck all day. Police then went to monster's home and waited outside for the truck to show up. She was dead by then. Inside the home. Four hours had passed. He had time to clean up the mess and had run to the store to get duct tape to tape up the trash bag he threw her in.
I'm no expert, but I doubt the Amber Alert would have helped if it had gone out quickly. I read she was only 3 miles away. It doesn't take long to drive 3 lousy miles.
Reading about crimes such as these makes me ashamed of our "justice" system. True justice would be to turn this monster over to her family. I know if it was my daughter, nothing would satisfy me other than having some alone time with him.
