1. Welcome to DU, TimeToEvolve!

K&R means kick and recommend. The way you kick a post is simply to post in it. That automatically "kicks" the post back up to the top of the page. A simple recommendation won't do that.
 
You can recommend a post by clicking on the box that says "DU recommend".

I don't know how you put images in your sig line, but hopefully someone who does will come along to answer that one!

Kick, just means to post a reply.

Rec, means to hit the recommend button on left side, bottom, of the original post.
 
OP means Original Post or Original Poster.

So, K and R means kick and recommend.

Images in your sig line will come in a different lesson.

For now, lets work on our K an R!

6. Normally you can just put the web address for an image in your signature...

... (or in a post) and the DU software will display the image. For example, pasting this in your sig (or a post)...

after which the logo for Skins's island 

Although the file format needs to be a jpeg, gif or png (I think those are the only ones that work) - and images used signatures will be scaled down to 100px high and/or 400px wide if they are larger than that (again I think those are the dimension limits - I'm too tired to look them up to double check).

Actually, I think it's more reminiscent of a bunch of cannibals looking really friendly when approaching a newcomer on the beach, so as to size him up for what sort of dinner he'll make.

I read almost all the threads posted here.

I don't make a post unless I think I have something to offer but I will admit that sometimes I goof around.
