179. Your first sentence is factually correct.

But there's a little more meat on the bone.

1. The poster in question went after my mother, who posts here, in a vile way. I saw bright, flaming red, and reacted in a way I'm ashamed of to this day...but it was my mother being attacked. Not me. Her, to get to me. It got to me.

2. At the time I responded, I did not know the poster in question was a woman. That is not an excuse - threatening bodily harm against anyone is shameful - but it is a fact. I did not know the poster in question was a woman. Screen names do not always provide gender information. Hers didn't. I didn't know, and I never clicked the icon to check.

So. Sit in judgment as you wish. I ****ed up, no doubt and for sure...but it's not as cut-and-dried as your comment would suggest. Go after my mother and you're going to hear about it from me...but if it makes any difference, that my-fault fiasco profoundly altered the way I approach online conversation, here and elsewhere. I no longer allow vile shit to get so far under my skin that I erupt the way I did against that person. It's not worth it; that happened years ago, and here you are chucking it in my face. The Internet never forgets. Neither, apparently, do you.

Now you know maybe a little more than you did when you posted that comment. Hope it helps.

**** the Eagles.
Anger is a gift.

If I recall correctly, the context of Bobolinks post that set Will off was, "what if it was your mother that was homeless and needed help".  That's some vile, hateful stuff right there.

I guess that answers the question of whether or not your own actions meet your own criteria for physical violence, doesn't it, you craven little bitch?

You're a lying sack of shit, William.  You knew exactly who and what she was.

182. William. A couple of things to in regards to your comments...

1.) I actually had an email (DU) exchange with your during the time before that even happened. I was concerned that she was giving away too much information about you and herself, given that the freaks over at CC were going after you and I didn't want them to get any information about you that they shouldn't have. I was very familiar with what those vile pieces of shit did to Andy Stephenson.

2.) As I remember at the time, she was quite well known on DU as being homeless and very acerbic (by most of the regulars here). You are right, it was shameful. I do believe that Skinner made the right decision to TS you for that outburst, regardless whatever her issues were. I also felt that he made the right decision bringing you back. I am not referring to the insightful political commentary you provide, but the fact that you did admit you were wrong.

I tend to remember things that people say (or do), such as is the case with trumad. Rather than admit you are a human being and have your faults (I know damn well that I have my faults), everyone seems to go all sanctimonious. It just really bothers the shit out of me when someone comes on DU and says how great they are personnally.

For someone who has such clarity of recall, you sure did fall short of remembering who actually threw the wrench in Andy's hospital stay.  I'll give you a hint:  You're kissing his ass in this post...

Oh come on, DAT!  Pitt-stain probably had to beg for drinks at Bukowski's one night when he was too intoxicated to figure out how to find his wallet.  That's some hardship for ya'.

His image as a protector of womanhood is somewhat tarnished by a certain matter involving one or more underage schoolgirls.

Scott Ritter's name ring a bell?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Ritter

Quote
Despite identifying himself as a Republican and having voted for George W. Bush in 2000,[15] by 2002 Ritter had become an outspoken critic of the Bush administration's claims that Iraq possessed significant WMD stocks or manufacturing capabilities, the primary rationale given for the US invasion of Iraq in March 2003. His views at that time are well summarized in War on Iraq: What Team Bush Doesn't Want You To Know a 2002 publication which consists largely of an interview between Ritter and anti-war activist William Rivers Pitt. In the interview, Ritter responds to the question of whether he believes Iraq has weapons of mass destruction:

Quote
Ritter was detained in April 2001[41] and arrested in June 2001[42][43] in connection with police stings in which officers posed as under-aged girls to arrange meetings of a sexual nature. The first incident did not lead to any charges.[41] He was charged with a misdemeanor crime of "attempted endangerment of the welfare of a child" after the second, but charges were dropped after he completed six months of probation[44] and the record was sealed on condition that he avoid further trouble for a period of time.[41][45] After this information was made public in early 2003, Ritter said that the timing of the leak was politically motivated.[42][43][46]

Ritter was arrested again in November 2009[47] over communications with a police decoy he met on an Internet chat site. Police said that he exposed himself via a web camera after the officer said she was a 15-year-old girl; Ritter said he was not made aware of the ostensible age of his correspondent before the act. The next month, Ritter waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was released on a $25,000 unsecured bail. Charges included "unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communications facility, corruption of minors, indecent exposure, possessing instruments of crime, criminal attempt and criminal solicitation".[48] Ritter rejected a plea bargain, testified in his trial and was found guilty of all but the criminal attempt count in a Monroe County, Pennsylvania courtroom on April 14, 2011.[1][49] In October 2011 he received a sentence of one and a half to five and a half years in prison.

I was more thinking of the rumors concerning Pitt's own debacle concerning his prematurely-terminated career teaching at a certain private middle school, but I suppose there is a 'Birds of a feather flock together' aspect to it, as well.
