Tennessee DUmmies enthusiastic about UAW vote at VW plant
« on: February 14, 2014, 06:46:39 PM »
Voting ends tonight on whether the non-union workers at the Chattanooga VW plant in the right-to-work state of Tennessee will be represented by the UAW.
This is an important event and I was interested in getting the DUmmies take on it.  With so much on the line I figured there would be lots of threads on the topic to choose from but I was disappointed.  Very few.  I was especially curious about how the Tennessee DUmmies felt about something that would have such a great impact on their lives so I went to the Tennessee forum.  Nothing.  No new threads started since July of 2013.

Lazy ass freeloading Tennessee DUmmies couldn't care less.

See for yourselves:

The UAW destruction of Detroit is complete.  If the democrat party money laundering machine is going to survive, it is going to have to branch out.  The DUmmies need to get off of their dead asses and DUAC or something.  It looks like they are just going to sit around and wait for Barry to tell them what to think about the situation.  Then they can post about it.
We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again.

They probably posted them all in General Discussion, thinking they're big-shots and that the world needs to see their local news.

The state is considering pulling tax breaks and other incentives that were offered to VW if the employees vote for the UAW.

VW workers vote to reject UAW organizing drive in Tenn.

CHATTANOOGA -- Workers at Volkswagen AG's plant here have voted to reject UAW representation, dealing a devastating loss to a union that saw the Tennessee factory as its best chance to gain a toehold at a foreign-owned assembly plant in the South.

If they do, it will be through VW.  Nissan is too big.

14. I sure hope they get everything and more, from this vote!

Like lower wages, higher costs on healthcare, NO protections of any kind in the event of something negative happening to them...and the list goes on.

The mega corps are collectively laughing and pounding out some major high-fives.

Once again, they were able to run rough-shod over American workers.

Please ignore the fact that those jobs did not exist in Chattanooga until Volkswagen set up shop in the first place.  They are owed.  Owed, I tell you.

VW encouraged the UAW to organize the workers and every one of their other plants have unions. This was a completely fair and open vote, at least as far as the company can ensure. Since VW sided with the UAW, I sincerely doubt that they are screwing over their workers.

The workers had the most to lose by joining the UAW. For now the workers don't have to worry about losing money to the unions or being pressured by the unions to donate for campaign spending.

However, some of the UAW supporters voted no.  They don't like the VW model of "Works Councils" that the UAW agreed to.

18. This will go down in history as the moment unions died

The union had every advantage. The company welcomed them with open arms. An election schedule was set that organizers believed was favorable to them. How did they vbow it? If you can't organize a plant when you have those kinds of advantages you really are failing. This is 100% union failure. There is no one else to blame. I wanna puke. Labor "movement," my ass.

Okay, so they didn't vote yet? I'm confused. First they've got their panties in a wad because the people voted no and now they're voting for a union?

Yeah, the way the DUmmies are talking, you'd think they already voted.

I had a friend who was an adamant UAW goon.  It seems like he was scratching the bottom of the barrel every few years when contract negotiations came around.

VW Workers Reject UAW By Narrow Margin

That title...

53% Yes to 46% No.

In 2008 when the presidential election resulted in the same margin, we were told by the primitives that it was a landslide.

Nearly 90% participation rate too, so there's no way to say that any one side was underrepresented either.
