I read the whole thing--it's a very long article--and nowhere is the party affiliation given.

Henriquez, who is serving a six-month jail sentence after being convicted last month of assaulting a former girlfriend in July 2012, said before the vote that he was innocent of the charges and rejected calls for him to resign......

Oh it gets much worse - the NAACP and black ministers in the area supported him and brushed off his crime as harmless.   

It's the GOP with the war on women though folks.  Don't you forget it.

It is for the most part on many levels, but the statehouse could use some more (R)s for sure.   The super-super-super majority just kills it every time.    Some parts of the state are more conservative than others.   

Aside from the panhandle of FL (when I am old and ready for the pasture), I wouldn't want to live anywhere else...




Oh... except for Maine.   I would want to live in Maine.
