Snowed yesterday and today, now it's freezing rain.

Got a couple of inches yesterday but temperature stayed right on 32 all day and the snow didn't stick to the highway. But it started again before daylight this morning and snowed most of the day. Got maybe 6 inches with sleet and freezing rain on top. I've been out and about several times today, no problems but then I've driven on this stuff many times. Current temperature is 25 so it isn't going anywhere soon.

Nice and peaceful around here today....and tomorrow probably.

Good grief Johnny, gives me the horrors when I hear anyone say they know how to drive under bad conditions.

Those of us that face bad weather for months at a time every year may well be able to drive safely, BUT, what about those that seldom have to face, to them unusual conditions ?

Crap, even in the best of conditions there are the unexpected drivers that are drunk, on drugs, having a medical emergency, sex, talking on the phone or texting that will come out of no where.

BTW have you noticed that it is seldom that one ever sees a taxi in an accident ?

Vesta honey, I have been driving something ever since I was 5 years old. Farm tractors, bulldozers, every form of heavy equipment, trucks and trailers in all kinds of conditions.....but still nothing beats a little commonsense and that will take me farther in this weather than anything else.

Got maybe 4" here in Asheville. TV says we may get up to 8" more tonight. I sure hope not.

Got 10" yesterday and about 1/2" ice today.  Raining now.

Went to check the roads this morning, I knew I made a mistake when I saw a kid ice skating in the other lane. :thatsright:

Can't decide whether it wants to snow sleet or rain here.  And thanks to the reporter on the ABC station here I just learned a new term "sneeting" appearently that's when it snows and sleets at the same time.

I just hope my flight doesn't get cancelled tomorrow.

It's "sneeting" here too. Currently snowing like crazy but 10 minutes from now, it could turn back to freezing rain, then snow again. Welcome back to the east coast, TRG  :-)

My condolences to you all.

It's fifty degrees here, no wind, and the snow on the ground (we got maybe four inches yesterday) is melting.

But I already paid my "dues" when it comes to dealing with bad weather.

It started snowing again about 3 hours ago.....we got sandwiches....layer of snow, layer of ice, layer of snow, layer of ice and now another layer of snow.

Having snow first is coming in handy. Makes cleaning stuff off the car and truck easy, just slide a layer of ice and snow off.
