AngryAmish stirs up the fems!!!
« on: February 08, 2014, 10:48:21 PM »
This is a fairly big bonfire. Long story short... cause I got to run over to mom's to take care of a water leak... the lady in the story got nailed for alimoney and is pissed and says this is why every women should have a prenup.

Why Every Woman Should Get a Prenup
http://www.elle.com/_mobile/life-love/sex-relationships/why-every-woman-should-get-a-prenup#comments

But 18 years later, when I divorced my husband, I had a successful writing career and some money in the bank. He got to take half of it. But it isn't even the fact that I had to give him half that I find so egregious. It's the alimony he demanded I pay him on top of it that makes me very, very angry—like scream-really-loud, get-drunk, and eat-gratuitous-carbohydrates angry. On the first day of every month, I have to write him a mother^#%*ing check for six thousand dollars. I've been doing this for two and a half years. I've got five more left.

How did this happen? Because California divorce laws are antiquated and ridiculous and favor the less successful spouse. You're probably thinking that he must have been raising our children, while I was acting as the breadwinner. Nope. We don't have any. The state of California says that I'm supposed to keep him at the standard of living he got used to during our marriage, even though he's no longer my husband. So despite the fact that he has a master's degree and more marketable job skills than I do, I've had to give up my quality of life in order to maintain his. I can now no longer afford such luxuries as cable TV and haircuts.

When my divorce lawyer, Melanie, first told me that my ex was eligible for spousal support (the new way of saying alimony), I replied, "There's no way he would ever ask for that. That would be such a ***** move." She shook her head, looked at me across her desk, and said, "Every woman who's sat in that chair has said the same thing. Get ready, because he's going to ask for it."

She was right. Melanie and her firm, Wasser, Cooperman, and Carter, have a roster of female clients who, like me, wish they could build a time machine and go back and make their ex sign a prenup before they walk down the aisle. I've met a few. We manage to find one another at parties. Maybe it's the look of disbelief and rage we all share. We end up huddling in the corner, discussing ways to cut down our monthly bills so we can afford to write that damn check. One woman was going to hire her ex to be her nanny. He didn't want the job. Why would he? He doesn't need a job. He gets her check every month.

Gonna be a good bon fire. Gotta run.

This is what happens when men get feminized.  I thought the fems wanted to be equal/superior to men?  What do they think men have been put through all the past decades?

I think it's funny. For so many decades divorce court has been stacked against men.  It is about time that  things get evened out.

ETA:  Just read through the whole thread that is there so far.  The woman in the OP is getting very little sympathy from the DUmmies, nor should she.  That being said, I didn't see any posts from the Ku Klux Klams yet.

I thought the DUmp was all about equality? Wouldn't this be treating a woman the way men always get treated in a divorce?

The OP is a hilarious read!  I'll have to row over and read the thread when I have some time.

I've noticed in this thread and others that a lot of DUmmies are using red equal sign avatars.  I did a little poking around to find out the significance and stumbled on this:
http://mashable.com/2013/06/26/red-equal-sign-avatars/
Quote
More than 10 million Facebook and Twitter users changed their avatars to a red equal sign in support of marriage equality earlier this year.
Quote
Fast forward to today, and many of the same social media users who adopted the avatar were celebrating the Supreme Court's twin decisions in support of same-sex marriage. Can any credit for the court's rulings be given to the little red avatars? Maybe, but probably not.
Quote
Jon Brodkin, a reporter for Ars Technica who quipped sarcastically about the red equal sign avatars on Twitter Wednesday, later told Mashable he's "sure the Supreme Court isn't swayed at all by social media."

We did it, social media participants! The Supreme Court saw our red boxes with two pink rectangles and said "that's all I needed."

Might as well dump those stupid equal sign avatars and go back to the stupid Molly Ivins avatars.

It tickles my soul when a mean spirited/rich woman gets raped in divorce court. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

It has been done to many men.

How's that equality working out for you girls?

Conservative women excepted.

... the lady in the story got nailed for alimoney and is pissed and says this is why every women should have a prenup.

When the levers of power change hands, and they will, we're going to see a lot more stories of the machinations the libs built turned against them.

I, for one, cannot wait.
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

John C Calhoun, "Disquisition on Government", 1840
