The EPA says this thing gets 19 miles per gallon.

I reset the trip meter when I picked it up... I'm getting about 13-15 since then.  I don't have numbers for the automatic version, but the manual is roughly 3700 lbs. with a full tank of gas and a driver and you can feel every pound.

Finally spoke with the insurance agent.  They're sending an adjuster out to look at my car today or tomorrow.

I'll be reimbursed for all out out-of-pocket expenses, missed work , and inconvenience (they said it was a percentage of my total reimbursment) but I only have a week to find a new car after the claim is closed.

Be very careful what you say or do around the adjusters.   These people make their living on keeping the claims as low as possible.

Note they on first visit will pull out a tape recorder as they question you on what happened.

They need to assess if you are going to sue or demand a big settlement.   It is a game of cat and mouse, what do you want and what do you deserve.

I found another Toyota for sale.  I wonder if I should go ahead and buy it and be done with this rental.

I actually broke 19 mpg today, but only because I got on the highway and off the surface streets.

If you're gonna do that, at least get a 70's Coupe Deville.   :-)

I heard from the insurance agent today.  They're totalling my car and paying me retail value for the vehicle.

Yes.

I'm going to look at a newer car with fewer miles today (same model. '99, 128k).

Glad to hear your numbness has gone.
I hope all the soreness has faded as well.
It sounds like that after your pain, suffering, and inconvenience you will be pretty close to back to square one.
One of my dream cars is a halftrack. I would love to be driving that when someone decides to hit me with their vehicle.

I sure will be glad to return this horrible Mustang.  For one, it's too damn heavy.  If they could cut a few hundred pounds off the car, they wouldn't have to put a 500hp V8 in there to make it interesting.

Save your money -- buy a 3-series.

None of the above.  I was prescribed what looks like narcotics (hydrocodone and phenergan).

It's more on the right side, less so on the left.  It's up in the armpit and goes down the arm next to the vein and into the hand.  The doctor I spoke to today gave me some long-winded name for that particular nerve that starts at the shoulder but it doesn't match what was on my release papers.  I'll have to wait until I see the specialist.

You should start a thread on Wishadoo! and ask Stewart who he is using for disability.

Don't forget they also will owe you for the tax, license and registration on the new vehicle which is above and beyond the price of the "total loss" payment.

Glad to hear the pain and numbness is going away. Keep on the look out for any symptoms. Maybe a visit to a chiropractor just to be safe.

I live with the tingling and numbness, even after neck surgery and back procedures. It sucks. It ****s up life.

No, I was not.

I'll have to make arrangements to see another doctor.  This is a little concerning.

Hey boss, take it from me, don't mess around with back problems! They only get worse! get yer ass to the Doc! I would recommend an MRI! Back injuries are hard as hell to spot. Hope ya don't mind enclosed spaces. MRI's are a bitch!

Open Aire MRI is a good alternative.

I couldn't get an MRI becuase nobody could get any information on the surgery I had in 2003 when the doctor put in one of these.

I'll have to follow up on my own and get the information myself.
