Eight of the empty bags were stamped with “Ace of Spades” and “Ace of Hearts,” which reportedly could be street names for a deadly mix of heroin laced with the opiate fentanyl. The drug has also been known as "Theraflu," "Bud Ice" and "24K,” and has been linked to more than 100 deaths in America.

Cops are not sure if this strain caused Hoffman's death, but they told TMZ that "everything's in play" until they get results from toxicology.

And let's say that you get heroin made legal. When the first asshole gets high and drives a bus or a plane and crashes it killing who knows how many people are you going to be so sympathetic for them as you are for a now dead actor?

DUmmies care nothing if innocent people die. They just want free govt provided drugs.

How many times have we read about perfectly legal, theoretically regulated products like cantaloupes, lettuce, beef, cheese, etc. causing mass poisonings and/or deaths?

Hoffman had 50 packets of heroin in his home.  No amount of legalization is going to save someone from their own stupidity.

The flip side of that is also true: no amount of criminalization will save someone from his own stupidity.

But  I suspect Hoffman knew exactly what he was doing.

But perhaps the most tragic thing of all is that Hoffman's death could very easily have been prevented.
It could have been prevented if we in the United States started to do what countries like the United Kingdom and Switzerland have been doing for years: prescribing heroin to heroin addicts.

Hoffman surely had access to, and could afford, pure heroin. I would bet that if it was indeed mixed with fentanyl that he wanted it that way.

Just like the argument against legalizing pot.  Back during the 60's, the THC levels were 2-5%, where as today it's as high as 25% and can be laced with other drugs.

Legalize it? That would not solve the DUmmies' biggest problem.

Legalize it and give it away! Put big bowls of smack next to the bowls of free condoms in high schools. Add a mandatory class to Common Core, "Heroin: How To". Add it to municipal water supplies, and put it in salt shakers in McDonalds' all over America.
