Leftcoat2020 is in a shelter again and trying to get enough funds to get to his destination New Mexico. Just spoke with him tonight.

Just trying to help him anyway I can to get funds to move him forward!

You know, the leftcoast primitive would help his cause a great deal if he'd explain to the primitives exactly why he's homeless.....

I wonder how many "I have to spend the holidays with my horrible family" posts lc2020 has made at DU in the past.

Just seems kind of pitiful he/she/it has no one else in it's life to ask for help.

Oh, I dunno, Warpy--I lived just down the road from you and I found that if you were willing to work in the oil patch or maybe get your hands a little dirty doing other stuff like being down at the power plant, etc., you could make a pretty decent living.

But then again, what do I know?

It amazes me how many Dummies are so isolated from real world relationships that they have to beg for help online. If something catastrophic happened to me any of my family members and many of my friends would give me a place to stay temporarily while I got back on my feet. Guess it goes to show how our choices influence our life.

I'd guess he burned through family and friends long ago.  He's actually not very good at this, story full of holes and obviously refusing all offers except cash.  A few of the DUmmies are even getting suspicious.

This is one puzzling Dummy.  He's educated, taught English in China for three months and spent some time in other Asian countries.  I'm guessing late 30's, family in OR, heavily in debt (student loans) but has spent the last couple of years living on the kindness of others.

What is it that is making him unemployable?

him. could you imagine the whining and sniveling all day from the cubicle next door if you had to work with the guy?  He'd get all pissed off when he's forbidden from wearing his Che shirt to work too.  Just a human disaster.  Probably still bugging people for cash too, especially if he knew they had a steady paycheck coming in.

And then there is that never asked question "if you don't have the money to get yourself to New Mexico, as in bus fare, but somehow you manage to cobble enough for a ticket, what exactly will you live on when you arrive?"  I guess go to this "friends" place with no money? That should end well.
