In his first plea for funding, Leftcoastnumbers stated that NM would cost $580.00 while Ohio would cost $1200.00 Now the cost is $550.00 for NM plus gas and a hotel and food.
So if the truck gets 15 miles per gallon of fuel, times 90 gallons of gasoline at $4.00/gallon, the fuel cost is $360.00 I'm figuring 1300 miles as per the DUmmy. Add $100.00 for 1 night at hotel and $50.00 for food and assume no other costs, (ie: no beer) the total is more like $1100.00
But wait there is more. I'm questioning the $580.00 for the truck. I checked with UHAUL, the cost for the approx 900 miles from LA to Albuquerque is $850.00 I assume that the DUmmy is in northern CA., that would account for the extra 400 miles. 1300 miles in two days is possible, I moved my brother from Chicago to Bucks County PA, half the distance (780 miles each way) in two days not including loading and unloading. The other thing is Leftcoastnumbers will need a credit card and also purchase insurance to rent the truck. So I think the cost is going to be much higher than $1300.00
Finally, Leftcoastnumbers will arrive in Albuquerque broke (actually in debt), unemployed and with no promise of a cash stream, no transportation and homeless/foodless. I see nothing but sheer entertainment on the way for us watching the situation. Whoever ends up being the guardian of Leftcoastnumbers, either some DUMB DUmmy or the state of NM, is gonna really be sorry.
