You want some free advice? Forget focusing on the fact that people hate you. Stop focusing on which people hate you.

Focus on why some people hate you, and be honest with yourself about what you do to earn it, about why you deserve it.

Then why oppose background check legislation designed to keep guns out of the hands of criminals?  Why keep the ATF from having the tools necessary to track and prosecute illegal gun traffickers?  You do realize that most of these laws are in place to protect the profits of the gun lobby, not your gun rights?

I am not a Republican, and your choice to vote for a Democrat means nothing to me.

It's your faux elitism coupled with a complete lack of critical thinking ability, casual dismissal of natural and Constitutional rights, and blatant sexism I find repulsive.

I would add though that a comment that stipulates even under torture she would not submit to voting another way says a lot to her own narrow minded thinking in that she is really stipulating that under NO condition, no matter how opposed to human rights or a threat to society her 'party' is, she would vote any other way. That's taking one's political affiliation to damn near religious nuttery proportions. I can think of some other societies in which 'party' came before principal and human interests and those people/societies usually have a very short leap to demonizing their political enemies and making even genocide a-ok.  Have fun with that, but consider that some of us 'conservatives' are far more open-minded in our stances then you as a liberal claim to be if you really are asserting such a ridiculous Joan of Arc, clutching of the chest proclamation. I'd also point out you do women a disservice by operating from your grossly emotional standpoint on so many issues, especially guns. You play right into the stereotype of the over-emotional female incapable of logical thought and discussion and I for one find that personally repugnant along with the idea that you would never consider voting based on principal and what is right for the country as a whole over your party.

The emotional trope is a constant refrain for anyone who considers the importance of human lives and not simply the the precious guns.  It's unfounded and itself emotional in that it doesn't deal with any of the concerns I raised having to do with criminals' access to guns, protected by the NRA and the Republican Party.

There are many, many restrictions on abortions and very few on guns.  Abortion rights have been systematically eroded over the past twenty years while gun rights have been expanded.  If a woman's body were a gun, she's have far more rights.

Do I ever agree with this and have had this discussion with many a person before who needed a healthy dose of it. I believe the issue is a larger one and you stated that too--a society and people in it with absolutely no humility.Too many 'perfect' people walking around for too much introspection to go on since those individuals are never wrong and everyone is a hater(hell the gay community is a good example of that behavior in a group-it's mind-boggling to observe it unfold in various discussions).

I love the 'I'm hated because of what I say' thing too. I had a friend call me 'mean' once for merely challenging her thoughts on something decidedly liberal in regards to healthcare, but I did so on MY home page with no reference to her because it is something I had thought of and her posting only encouraged me that now was the time to throw my thoughts on the issue out there. LOL Her total lack of humility chose to see that as 'picking on her' and she was just flabbergasted someone would dare challenge an opinion like her and I was 'mean'(ie a hater--because I had an opposing thought to her own on my own page--I saved her fragile ego from challenging her on her own illogical(and like BB overemotional) thread on the topic because I knew she was hypersensitive). Something tells me she and BB are cut from the same cloth of haughty indignation over daring to be criticized in any way.
