A contingent of Arizona Republicans is set to vote this weekend on whether to censure GOP Sen. John McCain over his “long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats.”

<snip>

Here’s the full text of the proposed censure, posted on icarizona.com.

Quote
As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened. So with sadness and humility we rise and declare:

Whereas Senator McCain has amassed a long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, the debt ceiling, assaults on the Constitution and 2nd amendment, and has continued to support liberal nominees;

Whereas this record has been disastrous and harmful to Arizona and the United States; and,

Whereas Senator McCain has campaigned as a conservative and made promises during his re-election campaigns, such as the needed and welcomed promise to secure our borders and finish the border fence, only to quickly flip-flop on those promises; and

Whereas McCain has abandoned our core values and has been eerily silent against Liberals, yet publicly reprimands Conservatives in his own Party, therefore

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Republican leadership censures Senator McCain for his continued disservice to our State and Nation, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that until he consistently champions our Party’s Platform and values, we, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for or endorse John McCain as our U.S. Senator.

<snip>

About ****ing time. The Honorable Senile Senator from the Great State of Arizona  :rotf: needs to quietly shuffle off to Scottsdale, ASAP.

Someone really needs to nail this old fool's ass to the wall.  He's just taking up space at this point.

We were told that the "Maverick" who could cross the aisle had the expertise and experience to have broad based support. McCain bought that lib/media lie. They always compliment him when he is being a useful idiot. He's gotten nothing in return for colluding with the enemy. That should be enough evidence to avoid any further collusion.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

It's so sad that the man who endured so much in Vietnam is now a sell out. The Maverick sure wasn't very supportive of Palin. It's about time all the politicians start looking into what their staff does. I'm sure the staffers have an idea of what the true feelings are of their boss.

He's a disgrace. If they get him out of there, hope that they find someone who can at least win the election. But I guess the way he usually votes it won't make all that much difference.

What's so frustrating is how often he is flat out wrong about what he says he wants to correct. He often wants to correct problems that libs tell him are problems, and solutions to said problems that would only benefit libs.
He's been nothing if not dense about issues like that ever more frequently.

I think this is a nice gesture, but it's like locking the barn after the horse has been stolen.

McLame has hinted at his retirement, so if that's true and he does retire, the "censure" is a moot point.

Juan, just go home, buddy. Go home and count your millions and lament your lameness. You are lame, you'll always be lame, and if you pursue your current practice, you'll embarrass not just yourself but the entire Republican party -- what's left of it.

RINOs like you just need to be put out to pasture.

Graze away, Juan. Chew your cud.

May not be such a useless gesture, though.

Notice that this came out about the same time as the news that Señor McLame was raising money for a bid at another Senate term.  Maybe this is the AGOP leadership subtly smacking him in the back of the head with a 2x4 and telling him to have himself another think over the next month or two.

Ah, I wasn't aware of his flip-flop.

But why am I not surprised?

Juan, please take note of what I said a couple posts upstream. You're lame, you'll always be lame, and if you continue your current practice, you'll embarrass yourself even further than you already have.

He's been lame for a long time, but getting worse. Maybe age is catching up with him and he's getting senile. I hope that he retires and doesn't make himself and the  Republicans go through the dirt. He should retire with some dignity intact--before he does even more damage. Of course the MSM seeks him out. All they have to do is puff up his ego and he says anything. Very sad.

What surprises me is that he learned nothing from his failed presidential bid about libs. He seemed truly shocked that they betrayed him, after he had reached across the aisle. That should have taught him that compromising conservative ideals to reach across the aisle never is reciprocated. To this day he hasn't learned.
