STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- A rule change by the USDA could put more food on your child's plate at school.

Fewer attendance problems, fewer nurse visits, increased test scores and increased attention are just some of the benefits of being full, according to Susan Ellinger, the nutrition supervisor for Staunton Schools.

"When those basic needs are satisfied then other things tend to fall into place and you have fewer issues as well," said Ellinger, as she is glad to see old USDA regulations gone.

The regulations restricted how much meat and grains schools could serve to student, leaving some kids with an empty stomach. ...

My teens were bottomless pits and had no weight issues.

I read where almost 75% of the "nutritious" stuff they were pushing on kids in some schools was going straight to the trash.  That should have given them a hint.

It was and Michelle Obama seemed to have forgotten about our athletes who burn thousands of calories and thus need the extra food at lunch time.

Leave the what to feed the children to local oversight Michelle -- ok?

I remember in my sixth grade class.  We had two white rats in separate cages.  One only got fed junk food, and the other one only got nutritious food.

What happened to the junkie wasn't pretty and it didn't take long either.  Of course today, PETA would be suing the school and all the liberals would be crying their eyes out.

Kids need fuel as much as they need nutrients.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
