LFR's sheepish and indirect quest to tell us what she thinks of conservatives in general, and CC specifically, she posts a false screed by Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. on how wonderful liberals are and how terrible Republicans are. (By her understanding)
I have no idea if O'Donnell was attempting to call Republicans liberals or what his original purpose was when he wrote this.
Really...suffragists were liberal eh? As I recall many were pro-life as well or at that time anti-eugenics which stands in the face of modern day liberalism. Suffragists also were more 'stately' women who had the fight the view of women being far too emotional to make rational decisions regarding the fate of the nation in election policy. Every liberal women I know is nothing if not an overemotional harpy with few exceptions proving the point not of the suffragists but those who opposed them. Suffragists fought to prove that women were more then hormones encased in skin ready to have the 'vapors' at any offensive content.
Civil rights act? Passed by a larger PERCENTAGE of republicans then democrats. I know silly things like proportion don't matter to liberals, but they are helpful when evaluating things like this. The reality is at that time there were more DEMOCRATS in office, but of both parties, REPUBLICANS voter for it by a larger percentage of party members then did democrats so considering the composition of the overall sitting officials, if the republicans had not voted in the numbers they did, it likely would not have passed.
Social Security does shit to lift anyone out of poverty, let alone the elderly. LFR do you actually know of an elderly person surviving on social security alone? They do not do well.

Hey LFR, you bear no resemblance either to those for whom many of those social programs were meant to benefit in the great depression. Go look up depression era photos and look at yourself in the mirror and tell me the HUGE difference between the two--well there are a few differences. Look at the weight which is evidence of the availability of food or resources to purchase food versus the very well fed well you. Look at the number of men back then who wanted WORK not charity versus those ie you actively seeking taxpayer funded charity instead of work. Look at the sadness in their faces versus the glee at taking advantage of the taxpaying public and then telling them they are assholes.
YOU LFR bare no resemblance to those faces and should be ashamed with even equating yourself in anyway to the fine working(or wanting to work) people of the past and present who have actually struggled through REAL poverty instead of CREATED poverty.
