On Christmas Eve, I asked DU member Starkraven to Marry Me. She said "YES!"
I was surprisingly nervous.
I am 63, and have never asked anyone to Marry Me before.

We have both been members here since the dark days after Bush v Gore in early 2001.
She chooses not to post, but reads DU almost daily.

We met in St Paul, Minnesota in 1999,
and have lived together in a committed relationship since 2000.
Though I refer to Starkraven as "My Wife" on the pages of DU,
we have never been officially "Married".
That will change shortly.

The Time, Place, and Type of the ceremony is her decision,
though it will probably be small and informal,
maybe under the Triple Oaks in our front yard by a local JP.

Do you think we may be Rushing Things?

You should buy bvarnumbers a dictionary for the wedding.  He/she/it is confused about capitalization and what it's used for.

Well, if you weren't married, then it wasn't much of a "committed relationship." Marriage IS the committed relationship. It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ring.
