Former first lady Barbara Bush was hospitalized today for early signs of pneumonia, but the family said she was "in great spirits."

"Former First Lady Barbara Bush was admitted to Methodist Hospital in Houston's Texas Medical Center yesterday for treatment on a respiratory related issue," family spokesman Jim McGrath said. "She is in great spirits, has already received visits from her husband and family, and is receiving fantastic care."

May she have a speedy and complete recovery.

Omg, that's horrible :( All the best wishes and speedy recovery to Mrs Bush, what an amazing lady.

How awful for the Bush family.  My thoughts and prayers are with them.

I remember thinking when she was first lady that she had achieved the highest achievement a woman could ever achieve and did the job so well....that of a gray haired grandmother. Barbara Bush never seemed fake to me. To many kids today have the painted up, hair dyed, skin stretched, self centered Nancy P. or Hillary types for grandmothers. They don't have time to be bothered with the grandkids and further more don't give a damn about them.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
