Stupid Dumpmonkey. He's the kind of idiot who would criticize Animal Farm by saying "Animals can't talk".
Ayn Rand was not a conservative, nor a libertarian. She wrote the Conservative Party of her day "subordinates reason to faith, and substitutes theocracy for capitalism;" and described the libertarians of her day as "hippies, who subordinate reason to whims, and substitute anarchism for capitalism." (The Objectivist. Volume 10, 1971) She erred in lumping right-libertarianism (individual liberty is the greatest social virtue, and the only legitimate purpose of government is to safeguard that liberty) in with left-libertarianism (anarchism). Since right-libertarianism was not prominent in New York City in the 1960s and early 1970s, her error is understandable.
Rand was an individualist, anti-communist, and Objectivist (the inventor of the philosophy, in fact). She was also a prescient political writer. 60 years ago, she accurately portrayed today's society and political environment.
A Venn diagram of conservatism, libertarianism, and Objectivism would show approx. 1/3 in common between the three schools, and another 1/3 shared between any two.
Who is John Galt? A DUmmy would never understand.
