Obama pushes for unemployment benefit extension

President Obama has offered his support to two senators proposing to extend expiring federal unemployment benefits.

Republican Sen. Dean Heller of Nevada and Democratic Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island have proposed extending for three months benefits that more than 1 million Americans will lose Saturday if they are not extended. Obama called the two senators separately on Friday, describing it as an urgent economic priority.

“This morning, the President placed separate telephone calls to Senator Jack Reed and Senator Dean Heller to offer his support for their proposal to extend emergency unemployment benefits for three months,” White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement.

I have been paying into UIC ever since 10th grade. I know for sure I have paid more in than I will ver get back. Certainly more than 2 years worth. But it's a shell game with any excess going into government general funds to buy votes.

I've been in the work force for 41 years and have never claimed a dime in unemployment. I've been lucky and I hope my luck holds until I'm ready to tell the working world to kiss my rosy-red ass.

But those who have been on the public teat for two years aren't coming back. They've learned all of the public teat angles and programs sufficient to continue living in Mommy's basement.

I can see somebody needing help to get over a rough spot. Rough spots might last 2-3 or even 6 months absolute maximum. But even in a bad economy, you can find work if you're truly interested in working. The problem is, of course, that those who have been coddled for 2 years aren't quite ready to get off the teat because fundamentally, they're lazy.

Wait just a darn minute...

Isn't it contradictory to tell us the economy is doing good and jobs are growing while at the same time asking for an extension of unemployment benefits?

I thought Teh Great One was going to fix everything???

Is it still Bushes fault nearly 6 years later?

Mrs. E surprised the hell out of me a few days ago. We have one walk-in closet which, of course, she has mostly commandeered. She packed up six large garbage bags of clothing/shoes/stuff and took it over to the Salvation Army. Amazing. I can actually open the door now.

Try convincing the DUmmies your closet is empty.  We're all haters.

I get sick of reading how much they think we hate, are racists, misogynists, and the like.  I've given up trying to understand why they think as they do.  Now I pass them by and go on.  They're not worth my time trying to convince them otherwise.

You can't change them.  They are brainwashed.

Years ago I read about an exKGB agent that tried to warn us of a communist program called "Demoralization".  His comment regarding what has happened to the left;

Quote
The first one being "demoralization". It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy. In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced  by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism.

The result? The result you can see ... the people who graduated in the 60's, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals, are now occupying the positions of power  in the government, civil service, business, mass media, and educational systems. You are stuck with them. You can't get through to them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern [alluding to Pavlov]. You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior.

Exactly what has happened and is happening.  I also did a lot of reading on Mao and he had some of the same thoughts about Demoralization and basically making the Government God.  When they Government is God, man sets the moral standards.  Like men marrying men and soon men marrying daughters or whatever else can express "love" back.

The next stage is destabilization.... It only takes 2 to 5 years to destabilize a nation. This time what matters is essentials; economy, foreign relations, [and] defense systems. And you can see it quite clearly that in some... sensitive areas such as defense and [the] economy, the influence of Marxist-Leninist ideas in the United States is absolutely fantastic. I could never believe it 14 years ago when I landed in this part of the world that the process will go that fast.

Obama's work is done.....revolution starts soon.

Just keep giving the people the goodies they want, keep their belly's full and there will be no revolution.

There are more so called poor out there then the people with Jobs that have to bust Ass to get  as much as the poor do for doing NOTHING, just being alive.

So who starts this revolution, not the poor, why mess up a good thing, not the rich, so is it up to the middle class to  cause waves ?????

Obama has us behind a rock and a hard place,  and not just him, we are at a turning point in America with greed is taking down the very country the rest of the world wants to escape to.     They have heard to Come to America means they can be free, to follow their dream, -----Give us your tired ,your poor , your humble people yearning to be free.

Compare the Europeans that landed on Ellis Island 100 years ago.  They had no welfare, no help, they worked 18 hours a day as did their children in factory's and some how most thrived, grand kids went to school and worked after school.   No unions, no medical care unless out of pocket---- Heck Doctors treated the ill for a chicken or a dozen eggs.  By the next generation homes and land were bought.

So where are we now in the Great Society ?    I have no problem with anyone coming to America, my problem is if they want to come they must support themselves, dig the ditches, work some how to benefit America who has taken them in.  Why should Americans work to allow new comers to live with free food and housing, cable TV and money for drugs ??

Rant over for now, except when one mentions free education to non Americans at the expense of our native born.

As long as it's Obama who will be long-term unemployed I'm willing to pay it.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."
