rsmith###'s on remembering the "old days"

Oh Do You Remember When?

I was at the local storage locker facility this morning closing out a locker I have had since January.

There was a sale on past due lockers going on. I mentioned to the clerk that it was sad to see so many lockers being auctioned off, she said WELL there are plenty of jobs available out there for people to earn money to pay or them,"I work 3 to make ends meet, I dont feel much pain for them" I had to say yes there are but will they pay the bills and DID YOUR PARENTS HAVE TO WORK THREE JOBS TO MAKE ENDS MEET?..her response was Mom was a FT house wife and Dad worked one job.

I said does it upset you that your parents employers took care of them and you pretty much today have to take care of yourself,I have not ever thought of that but yes now that you ask. I taught her that wages have been flat since Regan was POTUS while productivity has increased each year since.

She finally admitted that her earlier statement were out of line, she was a mid 40s women. She thanked me for helping her to see a real problem going on.

I closed by saying that the baby boomers generation will be the first generation in USA history to leave this place for the worse than their parents. I elaborated that we have done nothing to expand the highway system, the railroads, our primary education is not as good, our kids will carry a lifetime of college debt. A career equals about 5-7 years now, not 25+ years.

She now at least has a new perspective, I encouraged her to not shop Walmart and McDonalds .and then I had to leave.

WE CAN DO BETTER and WE NEED TO STAND UP AND WALK FORWARD.

All of the poor typing and bouncy crap was courtesy of rsmith###'s, one of the world's worst bouncy inventors.

What a lying ass moron...   :lmao:

My dad worked three jobs.   He would die working before accepting a handout.

There was a time (not that long ago) that when a presidential candidate made job creation his platform he won the election.    We saw how that went last time around didn't we?

No one wants to work anymore when you can get it for free.   The hard working middle class can't take much more of the financial burden of these parasites much longer.

He's lying his ass off, FL.  The conversation, if it ever happened, didn't come close to that.  If anything, the lady probably told the fat DUmmie that she was going to slap him so hard his second chin would spin around his neck if he didn't get the Hell away from her.

Randall finished ninth?  :rotf: I think he's earned it and this latest thread by him is a good example of why I think so.

This conversation probably happened just in his mind.  :mental:

Randy, why didn't you encourage her not to shop at Targets while you were at it?

Oh, this bullshit again.

The reason a husband in a single job and a stay-at-home mother is now pretty much extinct is because back when Smitty was a little lad, taxes were negligible, not even in the top ten household expenses.

That's the only reason.

My recollection of the old days is that uneducated stupid whiners like rsmithnumbers had it far worse than they do today.

There were honest-to-god hobos and tramps, who weren't mentally ill or drug addicts, who would come to the door begging for a sandwich.

Unlike today, uneducated stupid whiners like rsmithnumbers were never overweight.

Welfare, food stamps, and disability scams weren't available.

Then the Great Society built huge projects to house democrats in bulk, and poverty was abolished.

rsmithnumbers is old enough, but he's just too stupid to remember.

I would suggest have two incomes per household also led to price inflation.

Don't forget the other Democrat policies that have helped to drive good jobs overseas. EPA , OSHA and Unions have all helped to drive jobs overseas or down south.  Also, Obama has secretly been working on another trade deal that there is very little information about, The Trans Pacific Partnership.

I remember doctors making house calls, charging 3-10 bucks for an office visit and giving you medicine.

That was before the day when leftist lawyers and judges conjured up a thing called malpractice and thought it was the perfect vehicle to enact their idea of "social justice".

Such BS.  Both of my Grandparents worked 2 jobs until they either retired or died.  It was actually the later generations of my family that only had 1 spouse working and one staying at home.

My brother works for a large corporation and is very well taken care of while his wife stays at home with their two kids.  But then again he didn't get a liberal arts degree either you idiots.  It's called work ethic and living for something in life besides destruction and hate.

I just wish you idiots could see my family tree.  Those same grandparents who worked their ass off and raised a bunch of conservative Christians now have the pleasure of dinning with very giving, loving, charitable, millionaires during the Holiday's.  On my father's side 3 of the 4 kids were the first in the family to get college degrees.  One worked his way from busing tables in Holiday in to being the CFO of the largest franchise of Holiday Inns in the world.  Now he owns a couple of multimillionaire dollar hotels.  They all put their self through college without loans or government assistance.  Anyway, I could go on and I guess I am rambling.  The hate you teach your children and live in shows in all aspects of your life with a little hard work and respect you would fine a whole different life.

I agree.

For years, every DOTY season, Karin would campaign non-stop for her man.

I always discounted her as just another squealing, giggly rsmithnumbers groupie.

But she was right.

I think I'll go download a One Direction album. I might be wrong about them, too.

If you look at a household budget way back during post depression times, you won't find things like payments to credit cards, car insurance, medical insurance, horrific property taxes, etc.

I would love to find a list of all the mandated and taxing laws since those days.  Both Federal and State.

People coming out of the depression were also very frugal when it came to food, clothing etc.
