2. Good, let me share a christmas story

I always worked the shift, it's not a holiday for me, but I get it. So one year, we delivered a kid on Christmas Eve. Well, next year the family came, to see us Medics at the hospital and brought turkey, fixings, and the rest, as a thank you. And they kept doing it until I left the job. The child was 10 by then, so I wonder if they kept that after that?

We watched that kid that we literally delivered, clamped cord, and the rest, grow up to be a young bright lad. It was a privilege. Oh by the third year we got the message, so we also got them gifts, including toys for the kid. We were slow, I know.

Did this happen during her time travelling days?  Is she saying that she delivered the Christ Child?  That would take the BOTY award hands down.

Now, this could have happened. Notice that she didn't say "I delivered the kid", but helped. Maybe they drove the mom through the hail of gunfire in a drug block war in down town Mexicalli-ville to the hospital for a difficult birth!

gNads the Incomprehensible

Do they eat a lot of Christmas turkey and "fixings" in Mexico?

I find the use of her word "Medics" like she was in the some sort of Armed Forces.

Yeah, I'm still trying to wrap my head around that.

I assume she was "working" "there" before her marriage (but I could be wrong), and was wondering how they happened to celebrate Thanksgiving in Mexico.  As far as I know, turkey and all the trimmings aren't a Christmas tradition down there either.

I think the cousin just made it up.

I have enjoying a Proglodyte-free Christmas, and four mugs of rum-fortified spiced cider, so I am feeling more kindly disposed toward the DUmmies than usual.

I think her bouncy last year (and even that was recycled and enhanced over an earlier version) about her and her 'crew' providing blankets and food for a poor family on Christmas Eve was much better.

She even managed to work in to the story the tidbit that she paid the largest part of the bill at the store where the 'crew' bought the stuff.
This too shall pass.

I most enjoyed the story of her birth in the seething cesspool south of Texas.

At that time, mexico was not the heaven-on-earth it is today. It wasn't yet superior to America.

nadin had not yet arrived.

People didn't have telephones, or any other means of modern communication.

So, as nadin describes it, a group of her relatives followed a strange bright star to find the place of her birth.

They found baby nadin in a barn, strangely enough, and brought her gifts.
