Quote
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A suspected shoplifter knocked over a display case at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island Tuesday, but the scene was sheer panic as shoppers ran for their lives upon thinking they had heard gunshots.

As CBS 2’s Carolyn Gusoff reported, all was back to calm as night fell on Christmas Eve and the deadline approached for holiday shopping. But around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, it all came to a halt.

Oh NO! Gunfire!  :runaway: :bolt: It is just display cases that fell after a shoplifter knocked it down. People in the Northeast are more fearful of guns.

Well people in the south would have just drawn AK-47's and starting shooting everyone.  Especially black women and children and poor people.

In this day and age we need to teach people to drop and perhaps roll to a safe place when they feel threatened.

We had an incident up here when some crazy went into the mall with just a hammer and began to smash display cases.   Unfortunately customers walked past him giving him not a thought.    People just kept walking and shopping as this mad man was on a rampage.
