Tahoe Couple Gets Death Threats After Bear Is Captured And Euthanized
http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2013/12/21/tahoe-couple-gets-death-threats-after-bear-is-captured-and-euthanized/

Quote
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (CBS/AP) — A Lake Tahoe couple filed a police report saying they received numerous death threats and harassing messages after reporting problems with a black bear that was captured and euthanized by Nevada wildlife officials.

Richard and Adrienne Evans of Incline Village filed the report with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, the same day the bear was killed.

The couple did not kill the bear, which was previously caught and relocated. I suspect people are feeding the bear on purpose. An organization might behind it.

Quote
Ann Bryant of the Bear League says members of her citizens group are urged not to break any laws, but “emotions are going to be high as long” as bears are being killed.

People are told not to feed alligators either. There has to be a special kind of dementia to rebel against that kind of advice.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Would not be surprised if the ones wailing the loudest did feed/bait the bears into coming too close for their (the bears) safety.  Always ends badly for the bear.

A relative was a policeman.  He was driving on a two-lane highway and saw a couple cars stopped and people out looking at something.  Usually means wildlife and this time it was a couple cubs.  Relative drives up and encourages people to get away and get back in their vehicles.  The people from one of the cars did.  Three women from the other car started yelling at him that the cubs had been orphaned, their mother probably poached by ignorant ranchers, and the cubs were doomed to die.  Relative again encourages them to get away from the cubs.  They continue their hysterics.  Granted all this took place in a pretty short amount of time.

Too late.  Mother bear returns.  She had probably left the cubs to do a quick hunt.  They will do that.

Anyway, Mother bear gets really aggressive towards the three stupid women and the relative, who knows nature would be better served to let the bear kill as many of the three as she could, but is duty bound to protect stupid people in spite of themselves.

The women start screaming at relative to protect them, and relative did have to kill the bear to save the stupid ones.

Then stupid women start screaming that relative orphaned the cubs and that he used "excessive force."  Good grief.

Fortunately, the occupants of the car that heeded the request to return to their car were pretty decent folks.  They just didn't know any better at first.  They gave a report of what they saw, how the stupid ones interfered with everything from an officer doing his job to basic maternal instinct of a bear and they were cited for a couple things.

Worse story I heard from the news papers up here.  3-4 bears out grazing in a field,  tourist up here about 10 stopped driving and existed their autos to watch the and as the bears were  half a foot ball field away felt safe.

One family took their 18 month old child's in its stroller to watch.

Now comes the nightmare, these people had no idea just how fast a bear can run, out of no where a bear came thundering down on the onlookers and ran off with the baby.    Much horror and confusion for these tourist's and the child's parents.

I Hate and fear Bears, these Brutes are the King of the wood lands.  The can swim over 5 miles to an islands off coast and   wait for the Kayak's to off load camping supplies before they attack them.

Bears need no business among humans, we just don't get along.

lots of vestababble, culminating with this:

"out of no where a bear came thundering down on the onlookers and ran off with the baby....<more vestababble snipped>...  The[y] (bears) can swim over 5 miles to an islands off coast and wait for the Kayak's to off load camping supplies before they attack them.

You have no idea what bears are capable of. At a full out run these beasts can out run anyone  a bicycler even Moped.

The stalk their pray, even back track them. A sick or wounded bear is a nightmare for all living things in its path.

Bears swim, sometimes for miles and up here we Kayakers who paddle out to camp on the islands are warned
to keep an eye out for them.

Nothing like camping out and hearing a Huff huff from outside the tent.

We sell bear bells, they are suppose to let a bear know  you are there and move off.   Right, if a bear is ill or in a bad mood, this is a dinner bell to them.

Bear spray is sold in most gun stores but darn it all, bears in a bad mood will eat you all up and move off with an orange face.

Momma bears teach the kids to climb trees to escape danger, they can be very nasty protecting their cubs.

Males are another thing.  they just want to eat, have sex, and control their area. Bears are almost human in their wants and needs.

Google bear attacks and sit down to watch some of the most horrid things one can imagine.

Alternate version 1 "If I want your opinion I'll beat it out of you"...
Possible misogynistic drawbacks.
Alternate version 2 "If I want your opinion I'll give it to you"...
Works well with blondes
Alternate version 3 "If I want any lip from you I'll scrape it off my zipper"
A Little iffy in polite company.

I like my original version best. Especially poignant is the "rotten meat" angle.

You may be well versed in this subject but people die if they are city folk and think of bears or other wild life as friendly if you feed them.

We were camping in Arizona when the kids were 18 months to 9 years and we were in the desert. We pulled into a camp ground unlike anything we had ever seen before.    Sand and rock as far as one could look. I believe it was called Papago Wells, just off RT. 10.

When I got out of the car I noticed on the ground a rock the size of my fist that looked like turquoise. As it was an hour or so before sundown and not 120 degrees out I showed the rock to my kids and while camp was being set up told the kids to run about and find me any that looked like my rock.

The kids ran about looking and after less then 15 minutes the camp site owner came out on the run to ask me if I wanted to kill my kids.   He after I called the kids in told me just what was under those rocks and sand in the desert.

Darn, snakes , scorpions and some kind of lizards, all dangerous. How was I to know as I was just passing threw.

As sea coast  Yankees I could not remember a time when I at their age could not run barefoot in the woods or forests as there was nothing at that time to harm people.

So these people come from the city's that have never seen a Moose or a Deer in rut nose to nose, bears they  cannot resist feeding, they have the Disney conception of wild animals.

Didn't take long before after coming home 20 years later to find things had changed ALLOT at home. The rattlers had moved close to home, a stretch of highway going into the White  Mountains had a large sign telling of danger ahead as there had been 200 deaths of motorists from accidents involving car collisions with Moose. Then the bear population had moved so close they were in our back yards.   I have come to find, when working nights deer wandering about the streets in the middle of the road at just before  dawn.

Not just the tourists but new comers from way out yonder,  and us who have come home to retire need to be told that times have changed and expect to at some time or another to be faced down by a wild animal that if bitten by them have to get rabies shots.

Story in point.

A mother and 10 year old daughter were driving down the road and saw a baby kitten cold, wet and starving on the side of the road. the daughter jumped out of the car grabbed the kitten and put it under her coat to keep it warm and they brought it home.  They warmed the kitty, fed it and a week later took it to the town vet.   Again the little girl put it inside her coat for the trip.

When they got to see the Vet, Her eyes popped out, this child had been carrying about in her coat a baby Bob Cat.  Now this family were not newbie to the area, 3-4 generation but had never seen a adult Bob Cat in all that time much less a baby.

Fisher Cats, horrid little beasts have moved south.   These little beasts love cat meat and have been known to break into homes through screened in windows to get to pet cats.    Little will stop these small bundle of terrors but it is easy to know when is within a mile or so of your home.     They let out this scream that causes 50+ 911 calls to report a woman being tortured.  One can never forget the sound they make.

Now on to my cage, 10x10 with a bed of goose down, a TV with cable and my PC hook up.   Bath with toilet and shower,  and a kitchenette with 300 jars of spice to cover the smell of rotten meat. 24/7 visiting hours with my pets,  30 minutes only with some family or friends every 2 weeks.

So come rattle my cage, all I will need is for you to go to the library every week to get me 4-5 books and a bunch of chocolate covered Cherry's.
