I am familiar with Anthems mainframe.
It ain't a fighter jet, you just can't go all squiggly and expect it to keep up.
They got a team of good folkes that are probably bashing their heads on their desks trying to keep up with the latest proclamations from King Barry.
Don't get me wrong, I hold the insurance companies as culpable as anyone...so no mercy for them.
But I do feel sorry for the crew trying to keep up. Unfortunately, the laws of time and space have already rendered a verdict...
FAIL.
Edit: Actually, Anthems mainframe is not a single box, it is a series of IBM 3090's and I didn't participate in the programming of it. I just provided connectivity
It's kinda funny but back in the day there were 2 routes to Nasco, 1 via Microsoft SNA server (that was me) and 1 via a Novell product (that was my buddy) but I can't remember what that was. Eventually the client software got smart enough that it no longer needed the intermediaries (oh yeah, I remember, it was Attachmate Extra personal client).
Ok, I know, too much information.
