10. I think Christian religion can cause a person to
Love and care for animals and even display affection for women as long as....how would they say? "the woman acts lady like and knows her place" and then they can still hate gay people.
In general, I take your point, but I think it is highly based on a lot of individual background.
Curtis, you are a fool. If you knew one-tenth as much about Christianity as you claim to know, you would know what Paul's admonition in Corinthians was about. I'm not going to bother explaining it to you, based on another passage you will undoubtedly claim to be familiar with (1 Cor. 18-23).
You really seem to be hung up on this idea in your head that the New Testament supports some patron-client patriarchal relationship that has the man lording over the woman. Well, the New Testament is full of women acting "unladylike" for the time. All of Jesus' teachings regarding treatment of women challenged the social conventions at the time. Beyond that, a careful reading of the NT will reveal that Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna were all specifically mentioned in Lk. 8:3 as being the
patrons of Jesus and the disciples. Jesus was the first feminist, in the traditional sense of the word. I could go on, but it all seems rather pointless, considering my intended audience seems to posses the intellectual capacity of, well, a pretzel.
Detailed reading is required for understanding. (Does that phrase sound familiar? It should, because I lifted it from your post where you incorrectly tried to admonish me
here.) Upon review of your "religious" dialogues you've had here and at the DUmp, it has become apparent to me that your understanding of Christianity is at best about a mile wide and an inch deep.
I urge you to continue displaying your ignorance by posting on a subject matter you know nothing about. I happen to find it hilarious, and you're only embarrassing yourself for all to see.
