I can see both sides of this, when we went south and we as Yankees treated the blacks the same as we would anyone they often went out to look at our licences plates.  

To call a black man SIR from a white woman or man was a weird thing for them.   For two white Yankees to head South and get into a situation where we needed gas or food, and showed respect and just the usual person was for some reason a surprise to them.

When I had to a specialist when I tore ligaments in my ankle, I gave plenty of dirty looks to blacks and whites alike, who were talking about how Mitt Romney was going to take their assistance away. 

If my mother hadn't taken me (since I couldn't drive), I would have told them they are all degenerates and parasites.  I didn't want to risk some obese fatty taking a swing.

No doubt that these fat parasites had leg problems due to their obesity.

Only in America... our poor are rotund pieces of crap, sponging off the system, and still getting top notch care.

Apparently this is twice this has happened to me since I've been back to North Carolina. For those of you who don't know, I'm part black, part White, and part Indian but when people look at me they see the black part of me.

It's not the black part, it's the dangerous idiot part...only that isn't a part, it's the whole.

Apparently this is twice this has happened to me since I've been back to North Carolina. For those of you who don't know, I'm part black, part White, and part Indian but when people look at me they see the black part of me. Now, Last week i went to the doctor's office with my grandmother. While there, there was this white lady who acted terrified to be around me. Mind you I'm partially blind so unless I'm looking right dead at you, I'm not going to pay attention to what you're doing.

But my grandmother was paying attention and she mentioned to me that this woman was acting like I was going to hurt her or something. Now, I have a bad back so I couldn't fight anyone if I wanted to. My question is why are white people so dang afraid all the time? Its the 21st century. You think they would be used to it, but should I start becoming concerned for my safety? We all know how some white people feel about black people but with me being partially blind I'm wondering if I'm over reacting to this or should I just trust that nothing will happen to me.

I can feel your pain. We have a guy that is pretending to be president who is part white, part black, and all socialist. I just hate his socialist part, but since I'm white and since liberals are racist who only see his black part, they accuse me of racism. My question is why are liberals so hung up on someone's color? It's the 21st century. You'd think they'd judge people by the content of their character, but liberals just aren't that way.

No Linda, after living in TN and VA for years, I as a Yankee could not get over the white mind set of the White South.  Odd as I like people, don't care about their DNA,  even today being back north it still confounds me of the racists attitudes people will hold.

Then it is strange when a family up here has a daughter or granddaughter marry outside her race OR religion and has children how fast they embrace the kids. 

I have seen more whites welcome a black into their family then any blacks welcome a white.   ---With the exception of Patty Hurst.
