This is what puzzles me about DUmmies.
On the rare occasion they get a job, they know before the first day what the pay rate is. Then, they start whining about 'living wage', 'not enough to support a family on', 'CEO get X times my salary', and so on.
They are never happy.
There was a documentary on the Discovery Chanel few years back that took the watchers into the actual underground homeless people that lived in the tunnels under the subway stations. They survived by scavenging daytime, even built shelters down there, found a way to hook into the electric system, a toilet troth with running water, a form of shower due to a broken pipe. There were lights put up and some of the residents had built shacks to live in.
One resident had 3-4 dogs for protection and quite a few shacks had spray painted on the outside of its walls, NO DRUGS.
Perhaps 50 or more lived there and when they were discovered the city came in and bulldozed everything. Then the city relocated the residents in small studio apartments. They had it made, bathrooms with hot water showers, a kitchenette and a bedroom/living room with TV. No more scavenging in sub zero temperatures on the streets, no more worry about their next meal.
After a year or so most of the dwellers had gone missing, they missed the old life and the challenges it brought. They were board and had no way to get any pleasure from their own accomplishments as in finding in the trash a working radio or fresh food thrown out into dumpsters from restaurants.
No sense of self worth or pride in keeping themselves alive in unusual circumstances, no fun in being kept where they themselves had done nothing to make it so. Sort of a prison for them where they had no choice's and were treated as less then a man.
Some people are like that, to live beholden to no man, to be able to live free or die. Perhaps Amber is one of these souls that refuses to live under rules others make. If she wants to do drugs and drink Mad Dog, that is her choice, I do not see her hanging about any place for long when she is forced to change her life at the rules of others.
