Frivolous lawsuits in New York City

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

New York City has often been referred to as 'sue city' because of frivolous lawsuits.

In one example, a 220 pound teacher sued the school district saying he was beaten up by a first grader.

Not surprised New York City is "Sue City".  :mental:

Take the case of Queens resident Yasmin Rahman.

"You have a woman that's suing NYPD for essentially saving her from her own attempted suicide," Stebbins says.

Rahman tried to commit suicide in 2001 by jumping in front of a subway train. NYPD officers saved her life. She was 15. Now, 27, she's suing the city for $7 million, claiming the city and the NYPD posted pictures, police reports and hospital records of her failed suicide attempt on a database open to the public. She claims that has prevented her from obtaining a job.

"It still haunts me," Rahman says. "It's too my name and my background reports. When HR looks me up to see if im a good candidate for the position, they use that as a means to say I am not a good fit."

For what? The police saved your life.

I guessing she isn't a good fit for lots of other reasons.  Oh, and now she won't be a good fit because she is a lawsuit parasite.

NOW YOU TELL ME.

4 o' clock in the afternoon walking out of a restaurant, darn just darn, at the bar sat a woman dressed up like it was 9 0'clock at night.   Black velvet Minni dress cut down to belly button and huge rhinestone earrings

I had seen her when she walked in and wondered what her escort looked like, where she was going in that outlandish out fit that time of day.

On the way out 45 minutes or so later Hubby caught sight of her and walked square into a wooden pole holding something up, the roof I guess, that was the same wood stain as the walls. He like to have knocked himself out.

Had I known then what I know now we could have sued the restaurant for placing a pole in an area that anyone could have walked into for any reason.     That and the fact this was not just dining but a full Bar area, I am surprised there was not a good half dozen men who had been drinking and now laying flat on the floor next to my Hubby as they also all continued to check out the young lady.

I never did get to see her escort, or if she even had one.  Silver lining is when we got home Hubby had a big surprise for me, some things are better then money.
