Legal interview soon
« on: November 24, 2013, 09:10:30 AM »
I was just looking for a bit of advice on appearance, presentation, attitude, that sort of thing. Are suits necessary now?

I want to come across as well as I possibly can, as the interview is next week.

Thanks all.

If that is a recent picture I would go get something done with the hair....it looks a little unruly.
You need to be neat, clean and present a confident demeanor during your interview.

Get a hair cut, your trying to carve out a career not pick up young chicks, If you're not serious no one is going to take seriously.

Your a young person, in all the TV crime shows you've watched have *any* of the lawyers shown up in court in Dockers and a comfortable sweater?

You are going to get your ass handed to you...alot...your ability to learn the true lessons from your defeats is going to define you.

I disagree.

If you're interviewing for a gig as a maintenance guy, then a suit is overkill. But for someone who aspires to do something associated with legal work, even as an intern, a suit is appropriate.

I would NEVER interview in anything less than a suit, but then again I'm not much of a maintenance guy.

Get a hair cut,...

OMG, yes!

And dress in a dark grey or blue suit, white shirt and wear a simple, striped tie. A Windsor knot would be nice. Black over-the-calf socks and black shoes would be a plus. If you're seated and want to cross your legs, do so at the knee, not at the calf.

Remember that in an interview you are following, NOT leading. When asked a question, keep your answers to the point and as short as possible. Eye contact is important, too. Don't glance around the room while thinking of an answer to a question. And be careful of "what if" questions.

You are going to get your ass handed to you...alot...your ability to learn the true lessons from your defeats is going to define you.

That's a given that so many don't pay attention to.

The bottom line of proper appearance and deportment for a job interview is not to appear liberal or conservative, but to appear professional.

Trolls: They die so young....kindda like muslim suicide bombers...they blow up so fast these days.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
