Obama Defends 'Keep Your Plan' Claim

Source: TPM

TOM KLUDT – NOVEMBER 5, 2013, 6:57 AM EST

Amid a troubled rollout for his signature legislative achievement, President Barack Obama on Monday defended both the Affordable Care Act and a previous pledge he made in selling the law to the American public.

During a speech before volunteers for Organizing for Action, the President acknowledged that he's been bothered by the rollout, particularly the problems surrounding the website HealthCare.gov.

"Obviously we've been very frustrated, I personally have been very frustrated, with the problems around the website and healthcare," Obama said, according to a White House pool report. "

"It's inexcusable and there are a whole range of things we're going to need to do once we get this fixed, to talk about federal procurement when it comes to IT and how that's organized. But the model of providing health insurance for all Americans and using not just what government can do but also private sector competition and choice, that model's working."

32. Look I get why he said it in the first place

he didn't have to sell it to me. But he should have known there would be blow back from it. He either doesn't care or he thinks it will blow over. Either way to me it was a bizarre move. Was it a lie? IN a political context I guess not, in truth yes it was.

37. I had to read 50 posts to get to the ONE that gets the point of the story!

Good job, MyName. His revision during his speech yesterday is ridiculous. He intentionally did not say that all those times before. There are dozens of clips of him saying it over and over. He should have known better. I expect that from my president.

Like, one half was perfectly happy to get lied to and then told that they weren't lied to, despite video evidence to the contrary. I guess we now know what they would be like.

I would imagine that in a "1984 world" at first there would be a half that sees through the lies, but after time those who don't love Big Brother would become extinct.

I always wondered how BB had pulled it all of, but seeing a President who read 1984 and thought it was an instructional manual shows me exactly how it could happen.

Orwell was short on explanations about HOW we'd get to that world, but with liberals, I can see it pretty clearly. 0bongo says X, when the truth is Y. Anyone pointing out that the truth is Y is labeled the worst, most shamefully horrible thing imaginable - a shame so bad that it's unrecoverable. To a liberal, of course, that shame is being called a racist. It just so happens that 0dumbo is black, so the racist label is just credible enough to use.
And there you have it - people willing to believe anything they're told, even when they know it to be a lie - just to avoid a fate much worse than death, in this case being called a racist.

The spinmiesters must be blithering idiots by now.
DUmmies run with the new lie.  :banghead: :banghead:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Proof that Obama politically debated in his inner circle LYING to get the cACA passed. Then decided to lie.

No proof that GWB did anything other than believe his intelligence sources and the world's intelligence sources on WMD.

The DUchebags are so indoctrinated. Sadly, there are more and more of these types of morons coming to age and voting for their best interests.

5. doubling in cost

Our employer provided family's health care cost is doubling this year up to around $600 a month for just my spouse an I. Something has gone wrong if it was supposed to get more affordable. When can we drop this pretense and get single payer like every other civilized country? Anything else is just a money grab by big pharma and the insurance companies.

That right there is way the liberals cannot now or every be trusted. I lie is a lie regardless of the context. In fact, a  calculated, expedient lie to get the American people to buy in to horrible legislation is probably one of the worse lies. I guess Bush's WMD claims weren't lies as long as they were made in a political context hmmm?

While that is true, I have noticed the bigger lies seem to always follow, let me be clear.
