I just cooked a breakfast for two, Eggs, sausages, and potatoes. Total cost $1.50 for two so $.75 each. Of course, I had to cook and clean so there is some work required.
A lunch could consist of a tuna fish sandwich and a one ounce portion of chips or a salad. Total cost $1.30 for two so $.60 each.
A dinner could consist of 4 ounces each of steak, rice, broccoli, and a salad. Total cost $6.50 for two so $3.25 each.
Pretty good eating for $4.60/day/person. Take it down to a bowl of cereal and pasta you are well under $2/day/person.
The poooooooooor are going to have to deal with a $1/day cut while my health insurance is going up $10/day. I think if I have to budget a ten times economic burden the pooooooooooooooooor can budget the 1/10 burden. Juat means they will have to wait a little longer to get the latest most expensive Nikes. Maybe only one gold toopher per month.
And another thing, the two kids are getting FREE breakfast and lunch at school. Some places they get dinner too. so at a minimum that is 20 meals a week 440 meals a month that the poooooooooooooor do not have to buy.
