Don Imus once again brings race to airwaves

Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."

Civil rights leader Al Sharpton issued a statement calling the exchange disturbing "because it plays into stereotypes." He says his National Action Network was still deciding how to respond

It's tough being under a microscope, especially when one has a group just LOOKING to be offended!!!

I never paid much attention to Imus. The best thing that ever happened to him was Howard Stern made fun of him in his book and movie.
All Imus ever does is mumble while his on air crew laughs at every dumb thing he says, or mumbles.

I used to catch it on MSNBC when getting ready for work.

Sometimes Imus was ok, or there would be a good interview, but the co-hosts always seemed to make the show for me...I also liked the guy that read the news...

Imus and his wife do alot for sick children, that goes a ways with me.

They have a formula for figuring that out. Imus may or may not have offended a black, brown, light, bright, damn nye white African so that's X amount of money. Imus didn't use the "N" word so that's a -Y amount. No mention of nappy heads, so that's a -Z amount. No mention of ho's so that's minus a constant $100,000.

so X-Y-Z-$100,000=dinner at a nice upscale place for Jesse and Al ......or lunch specials all-round at Macky-Dees if their girlfriends and  illegitimate kids tag along.

I have listened to Don Imus before and find that he is hackneyed and should have left radio a long time ago. He is so unfunny and his time is up. He has made a lot statements that could be viewed as racist WAY before the Rutgers remark. Racist or not, that is uncalled for in the name of sportsmanship. Insulting a team that lost in a NCAA tournament is not cool. Not something I would like to hear. The thing is it happened at a slow news time around Easter.
