I see more and more Dummies making more and more claims about the wonders of Socialism. I guess I have been failing at my job as a fictional spirit-guide. Despite knowing that I’m about to undertake a task doomed to failure, I am going to do my duty and try to help.
Socialism will NOT work.
I know. I know. You’re saying to yourself, “YES IT WILL WORK IF IT IS PURE SOCIALISM!!!!!……OR SUPER-DUPER SOCIALISM!!!!!….OR DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM!!!!!….OR IF WE WEAR FLOPPY HATS AND SING KUMBAYA!!!!!….OR IF FRANSOLICH WOULD JUST LEAVE US ALONE!!!!!!â€
Nope. I hate to break it to you, but it will NOT work. You can twist it all you want. You can call it what you want. You can wear what you and sing what you want. The coach could forget you ever existed. You can even get a tingle down your leg when your half-white messiah smiles at you. It still will NOT work.
I surprised you with the ‘half-white messiah’ remark, didn’t I? Did you forget I’m a fictional spirit-guide? I know you just like his white half and the only use that you have for his black half is a means to attack anyone who disagrees with you. Racists are like that, but back to the topic at hand.
Socialism will NOT work because for socialism to be successful the populace, including all of the leaders, have to be inherently good. None of us are. You guys especially are not.

My reply to you is simply: right.
Let’s kind of put the issue of being inherently good on the back burner for a minute and take a look at why the populace must be inherently good in order for socialism to work.
Socialism requires each individual to SINCERELY provide to society according to his or her abilities. Often this requires the individual to do something that he or she is not happy doing. For instance, let’s say your favorite ability is hiding remote controls, but maybe society has reached a point in which it does not need someone to hide remote controls. Maybe society needs that particular individual to stand on the side of the road wearing an orange vest, picking up trash, and using his or her ability to hide things to hide the trash in a trash bag. Picking up trash is not nearly as glamorous as hiding remote controls, but it is something that is needed by society.
Now look around DU. How many are on the government teet who could actually do something to benefit society? And no, posting on DU only benefits society on a comedic level which does not count. That is why socialism can not work.
Even your half-white messiah is an example of why socialism will not work. How many international vacations have you went on this year? How many high-dollar parties have you had this year? Yet your half-white messiah is doing both, very often, while others live in squalor. How many truly disabled and in truly in need individuals could be fed and cared for with the money he has blown with his lavish life-style?
No, my DUmmie friends, much like 1 + 1 will never really equal potato and much like DU will never really be relevant, Socialism will never work, and people like you and your half-white messiah is evidence.
