One of the members of the deer camp I belong to (he's got Stage 4 lung cancer in stasis right now) had a recipe for a bear roast that was good. Crock pot, bear roast with all of the fat trimmed off, bottle of ketchup, jar of grape jelly. Combine all of the ingredients in the crock pot. Cook at 325 degrees 1 hour per pound of roast. No gamy taste (if you've trimmed off all of the fat).
