GAWD, I hope that they pick Ted Cruz as their presidential nominee

This guy's PERFECT! He's a dream come true.

He's says the most outrageous shit, and doubles down on it whenever he pisses people off en masse. He's a con man that just about anyone with more than .0002% of sense can see right through.

He would be completely UNelectable in a national election… Better yet, he would kill the GOP's hope of taking the White House for a generation.

He could single-handedly break the Republican's strangle-hold on the top marginal tax base in this country.

I hope that he NEVER stops talking. The wingers love this guy and they are completely oblivious to the fact that he could wreck their entire hopes for a political future.

He's in Iowa and the local Dems see the writing on the wall as well, they're PROMOTING his ass.

Did you see the welcome he got from IA Gov. Branstadt? I thought that he was going to spit on the ground after saying his name… And HE's A freaking Republican! Imagine if Cruz got the nom and all the GOP moderates like Branstad had to hold their breath to vote for the guy. The GOPers would stay away from the polls in droves.

Cruz is magic, people!

I'd love to see him run and win, you idiots will melt down even worse than you did under Bush.

1. Me too, and I just heard on NPR he has lots of loony supporters.

It could be even funnier then Failin or rMoney.

I love it when they call us loony, means we are doing something right!

I thought it was racist to ask where he was born.

Nah, Ted doesn't golf.
Besides, he's to good at stirring up the liberals as a senator, to move him into a less effective position.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

You can always tell when we have a good possible candidate because threads like these start popping up.

Keep it up Ted.

I hope he does too!
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Me too. He's a guy who's not afraid of a fight. Who is willing to stand and debate the lies of the left.
I would LOVE to see him in a debate with whatever lefty.

I'm unclear on this.  It was my understanding that he is the child of an American citizen who was born in Canada.  Doesn't that make him eligible?

In Texas, Cruz would probably win.

In a nationwide election, Walter Mondale would beat him in a landslide, and I don't even know if Mondale is still alive.

So let's run another RINO, that always seems to work. How about Christie?

Too controversial.  I think Johny Mac deserves another shot he just needs to be repackaged.

Cruz is eligible to run. But 2016 is still a long way off. If he does, I can easily vote for him. No more RINO shit!

However, I'd like to see who and how he endorses in 2014, and who he might campaign for. That'll tell us a lot about his intentions for 2016. Here's hoping.

Might as well.

I get sick of people on our side saying conservatives shouldn't run because they can't win. Then they run a RINO that even 0bama can beat.

Didn't they say this same shit about Ronald Reagan back in 1980.  How'd that work out for you Dumbasses.  A real conservative would bring out the base in droves and pick up the moderates and blue dog Dems.   We need to stop letting mainstream media choose our candidate.

It probably wouldn't work. The party has been severely damaged over the past year.

But we've won five presidential elections since 1980 with Reagan and the Bushes, and all those guys would be considered RINO by most in the tea party.

The tea partiers can win in a few states and a lot of congressional districts, but haven't a prayer in a national election, and I think they know it.

I hope we aren't headed for eight years of the Hildebeast.

Even if Cruz gets the nod there are too many people supposedly on our side all to willing to helps the Dems defeat him. Even more so than when Reagan was elected.

He can run. He's more eligible to run that the current office holder.

This is typical for the DUmmies. Remember they tried this with McCain in '08 because he was born in the Canal Zone.

Well if enough people share your "we can't win attitude" then yes Hillary will be the next president.

Not saying that. Just pointing out what we can expect when/if Cruz gets the nomination. I want him to be the nominee.

Understand, but they are going to savage and lie about whomever we pick, be it Christi, Jeb or Olimpia Snowe.  So lets pick someone who is a real conservative and has the balls to stand by his principles.

Whatever you expect to happen to Cruz will happen to those who are said to be electable. Look at how they painted Romney as some right wing extremist, if they are going to say it anyway we may as well just run an actual conservative, especially one who will fight back. We have nothing to lose running Cruz or someone like him.

Problem is the GOP, will they throw their weight behind Cruz or some non-conservative like they have been?
