Should be pretty easy to demonstrate that this is a lie, too.

Since he was just bragging on another thread about having a Tesla suckermobile, easy indeed.

My guess is the booze has burned out enough circuits so he is getting his stories jumbled and can't keep track of his lies.

It looks like he's claiming to have access to a CL65, but it belongs to his (mythical) woman, as do the myriad businesses he claims to own. I got bored before I could verify his Tesla...he says that friends have them. He also lays claim to a 1990 Mercedes sedan, which I believe brings his car inventory to used-car lot proportions. Where he kept them when living in cramped-ass Bel-Tib, I have no idea...maybe in the same warehouse where he stores
his military decorations. Since he's just a liar and a buffoon, he isn't worth the level of skiptracing I could apply.

He had a Porsche Carrera GT back when he was TiT.  I think the Mercedes 450SEL was part of his Dollarbillhines story and he carried it over to his Link Speed character.  I would bet money that he doesn't remember 90% of the shit that he's posted at the DUmp.

More about cars from when he was TiT

Original message
I just had the automotive ride of my life
I have both owned and driven some of the finest cars ever made. I have also spent a lot of time with some very quirky autos.
From Model T to Formula cars. Rolls, XKE, Porsche (including Carrera GT). Bugatti, Corvair, Muscle cars, Ferrari, you get the idea.

But a friend and I spent this afternoon in a 1908 Stanley Steamer Semi-Racer Model K. Drove all over Tiburon and Belvedere. Took it to Mill Valley.

A car that runs on steam with a very efficient heat delivery system for the generation of that steam.

I am absolutely lost in the vapor.

The Model K was a speedy production model for two people and came with a rumble seat. It was intended for the fastest kind of road work while being entirely practical for every day use. The Model K used the same engine as the "Wogglebug" Special Racer that reached 127.66 mph at Ormond Beach, Florida in 1906.

Specifications: Model K; engine two-cylinder steam; bore 4-1/2 in., stroke 6-1/2 in., 26 in. boiler, 30 hp. Price new $1,800.

3. I will never forget it
No windscreen and we had it up to probably 70mph at times. And you are indeed correct about the terror aspect. I have driven a car in excess of 200mph (McClaren F1 and a Top Fuel dragster) and felt more comfortable at that then I did today. An hour later and I am so adrenalized that I can barely type this.

The operating procedure alone is something to behold. Transferring water from tank to boiler, adjusting the burner levels and leaving behind a cloud of rapidly evaporating steam.

10. I'm really interested in the Tesla.
But the Lambo blew the launch.

I had a LP640 (Murcielago) which would punch thru 60 in 3.3 or.4.

Traded it for a Carrera GT (which I am extremely proud of)

TiT is drawn to DU like a fly to a turd.

And frankly, there ain't much difference between the two.

3. Yeah, I have.
I am a really good driver, but the F50 simply wears me out.

And I am with you on the Maranello. What a sweet car.

Due to falling (temporarily, thank heavens) on hard times, I had to sell my Carrera GT last year. Now that car was a manageable fire-breather. I really miss that sound.

But I kept a perfectly restored '90 560 SEL that will still make 145mph with one hand on the wheel.

Now let's talk about my '66 Vespa with an all-steel Indian sidecar. I wish I knew how to post pics, for this is one of the coolest Vespas on the planet. It is also one of the most treacherous vehicles I have ever driven.

McClaren F1 and a Top Fuel dragster

 :rotf:    Yeah, right!   :rotf:

I follow F1 and Top Fuel/Funny Car racing quite closely.  Here's a few thing for lurking DUmbasses to ponder:

1.  The only place F1 cars got up to over 320kph (200 mph) was at the end of the LONG straightaway at Nürburgring.  (This was before FIA dropped the engine displacement from 3.0L to 2.4L)
2.  TF/FC hit 300+ in 1,000 feet and around 4 seconds.
3.  The operating cost and cost of fuel and equipment of both F1 and TF/FC makes "joyrides" unheard of.
4.  There has NEVER been a driver with his name, in either sport.
5.  American F1 drivers are as rare as hen's teeth.

There's enough bullshit in that one statement to fertilize the Great Plains!!!!   :rotf:

I do have some questions for the Dump's premier driver.

Was that a McClaren Honda, or a McClaren Mercedes?
Were you teammates with Ayrton Senna, or John Force?   :rotf:

If I read the OP correctly, the McClaren F1 he is referring to was the road going car,  and not an actual formula car.  It doesn't make his story any less stupid and more believable, though.

Yeah.  Maybe I should have reworded that last sentence.

I meant to say that either car doesn't make his story any more believable than it already is, which is not at all.

At least he knows we know he's a pathological, utter, complete, unreconstructed liar.

Do you guys know how many guys there are in California who are exactly like Hollis? 50ish or 60ish, campshirt and loose pants, gray beard, wine-swilling, fedora, guitar-strumming,
good-timing, story-spouting, bullshitting never was and never will be? Literally TENS OF THOUSANDS. You can't go anywhere wine is served without running into at least a couple
of those assholes, who don't have a pot to piss in but have infinite excuses for themselves and tons of braggadocio to divert from the fact that they have and are NOTHING. They
usually find some middle-aged woman of foreign extraction to latch onto, who's been rode hard and put up wet by a richer man who's moved on. Notice how Hollis always mentions
these exotic women he has, yet he never mentions his wife (or ex-wife, I suppose) or his SONS, of which he has two (other than to lie about them being baseball players or bongo-pounders
with Santana). No, Hollis, your sons are probably training to be just like you. I have no doubt they'll succeed.

Hollis, I have your ****ing sorry ass dead to rights. You hang around areas where there is wealth, and you concoct friendships and connections that make it yours...except it isn't.
You sit around bars all day, bullshitting with the other Hollises who are scrubs just like yourself, and you try to put the hurt on any woman over the age of 40 who might happen along
your sorry-assed path. You claim you live under an assumed name, when in fact you've assumed...wait for it...your MIDDLE name. You claim to have all these businesses and cars and
shit under your woman's name, but you seem to change women about as often as you change your sweaty, stinking, ketchup-stained guayabera. This is to say that they change MEN,
and you're left to consider the empty, smoking carcass you call a life. So what do you do? You wrangle a free glass of wine from some NoCal schmuck and watch the vehicles of
productive people go by. What's that, a Tesla? No, Hollis, now that's YOUR Tesla, as is the 40ish woman behind the wheel. At least that will be the story you tell people on the internet.
Because why confront the rimey stench of your actual life when you can get Peggy to rub her nub over what you trick her into thinking your life is.

My favorite TomInTib episode is the one where he shares a dinner table with Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

Yes, he actually did, Hot Rod.

It was just Bill, Hollis, and Warren, sitting around the table sharing tales about their wealth.

Bill and Warren were enthralled by Hollis's stories about roadtrips with Deadstone.

Only one of the three went home and posted about it at the DUmp.

Since he referred to a Top Fuel car in the same sentence, one HAS to assume he meant a race car.  You don't drive one of these on the street.

It would be fun to sit and listen in.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
