Is TiT back on DU?
« on: October 25, 2013, 05:46:22 AM »
Thanks goes out to JakeStyle for bringing this to my attention in his TominTib Starts a Kerfunkle thread.

Is Link Speed the new handle of DU greatest teller of tall tales?  You decide.

Link Speed drives a Tesla.

2. I have two friends who own Roadsters

They are a blast to drive. One of my friends and I often swap cars, my Benz/his Tesla.

This morning, I saw my first "S" up close and personal. A thing of beauty.

Tesla even makes custom-fit beverage cups for the console holders.

Oh! Hell, yeah!! I just drove a Tesla.
I was walking over to the Post Office to check on something for DUer Raven...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

when I spotted this cool, cool car in the parking lot behind our Gallery. I couldn't figure out what it was, so I walked over to get a better look and saw that it was a Tesla. Except for photographs, I had never seen one before.

Check it out...

http://www.teslamotors.com /

I felt like a rube, standing there, looking in the windows and all around, over, and under this radical little auto.

Went over to the PO and, naturally, they were closed.

Walking back to the Gallery, I stopped and looked at it just one more time.

And this woman walked out, opened the door, and started to remove these canvas roof panels.

So I just had to ask some questions.

Long story short, I just got back to the Gallery and I am so amped that I can barely type.

I have driven some incredible cars in my time, but nothing remotely approaching this thing.

Felt just like cutting through the air. Except for the speedo and things flying past, there is no sensation of speed. The damned thing sticks to the road like a Formula car.

I am sweating, I am so amped.

1. Thanks for posting this

As a descendant of the first Anglos to arrive in Tejas, I have always known that Texas' history is every bit as fascinating and intertwined as any other State in the Union. It's a shame that more folks are not aware of that fact.

In a nutshell..
My family is the oldest anglo family of record (1630)in what is now Texas.

We are heavy into oil & gas and KBR.

Ms. Mosbacher has, apparently, a quite checkered past (rumored to have been a Society Hooker)and when she has had enough to drink she is a major handful.

I was once at a Nomad's Dinner at the Petroleum Club in Houston and stood about three feet from Georgette, Lynn (Ms Oscar) Wyatt and Arianna (Ms Steve) Huffington while all three were screaming at one another. Then, at precisely the same instant, they each threw their drinks on the others.
Their husbands were nowhere to be seen.

I am loving seeing those pics of Lloyd Maines playing with Natalie on the Capitol steps.

Last edited Mon Jul 1, 2013, 09:36 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

Having known (and played with) Lloyd for years, they should've handed him the mic.

He would have lit that crowd on fire.

Natalie is a direct line from Dear Old Dad.

BTW, Lloyd made the Dixie Chicks.

He pulled out all the stops, financed them and ran the show.

Lloyd also engineered all of their records, no matter what ****ing Sony says.

4. Unfortunately, I believe that we are too far gone.

I am sixty years old and have lived my whole life off of (not 'under') the radar. I have taken some heat for that, but now am glad that I am where I am.

These days, I simply sit and watch it all go by.

1. A few of us were having this discussion this past weekend

We are a group of local Vietnam vets - old guys, 60+ years of age. Having shunned VA Dental (for damned good reasons) all those decades ago, we were collectively surprised to realize that dental is our biggest single health fear/issue.

Recently, my dentist told me he could solve all of my dental issues for $70K.

6. Yeah, and Sherman was a saint.

War is Hell, it's just that simple.

I also recall some occupying force (US Cavalry) and the attempt to exterminate a Native population.

I was part of an invading force that wiped out a generation of males in some forgotten, podunk SE Asian backwater.

It's all a matter of perspective.

And the admitted Jew hater is already in trouble.

Can't beleive a DUer just said he would have shot this kid

I mean really look at this poor kid's picture

(pic of some kid)

Now compare his height to the 30" desk behind him - what is he 4'8" maybe ?

Now how can any cop mistake him for a "Perp" and shoot him.

Then when the kid is down on the ground walk over and shoot him again - repeatedly 6 times

Quote from:
Ethan Oliver says he lives across the street and came outside after he heard two gun shots.

He says by that time Lopez was already on the ground.

"Then the cops went at it again and unloaded like 6 to 7 shots,” said Oliver.

When asked if he meant that the deputy shot Lopez while he was on the ground, Oliver said, "Yeah. Exactly what I saw."

Authorities haven't responded to that statement.

http://m.ktvu.com/news/news/national/dozens-march-remember-boy-killed-deputies/nbXW9/

Then this guy comes here and says

Quote from:
but that kid was a fool (and his parents are idiots, if they knew he was parading around the 'hood with that "gun"). We can only hope that lessons are learned from this.

If I had seen him on my property (I am minutes away from SR), I would have shot him on the spot.

I don't care what kind of sick **** you are - nobody has the right to shoot kids

I don't give a **** how many guns you have or how much you hate Mexicans - no one - not no body has the right to shoot kids

You took my reply completely out of context.

Have you ever been shot at?

I sincerely doubt it.

I have.

He who hesitates is dead.

By the way, **** YOU does not play well on DU. I am not going to alert on this, as I figure you are a 20-something with not much of a grip on the Real World.

What would you have done in that situation, HotRod?

Probably shit your pants, that's what.

Those cops were watching some punk with (what they thought was) a serious firearm.

What would you have done?

Really, what would you have done at the moment?

Now wait a minute. TiT is fabulously wealthy. His friends drive exotic $300K automobiles. He lives in the wine country and owns a vineyard and winery. He owns numerous condos on the ski slopes at Aspen.

But he and his friends have never gone to the dentist? It's either VA dental or nothing?

That sounds like the plight of a hopeless quart-a-night alcoholic trinket shop clerk, not a multi-millionaire wine baron.

1. That's hilarious. I was almost arrested in my own front yard.

I live on a street of $1M+ houses and my 'crime' was being a long-haired, bearded guy in ragged clothes, holding a bottle of beer.

"Put down the beer and don't move!"

"Huh?"

"What are you doing on this side of town?"

"Huh?"

"Just answer my question, asshole!"

"Uh, maybe because I live here?"

"Don't bullshit me, asshole, let's see some I.D."

"It's on my dresser."

And on it went. Pat-down, sobriety test (it was my first beer of the day), call for back-up, etc.

In my own front yard.

Hollis was TiT first, then something else for a few posts until they realized it was him (too soon, jew-hater), and then he slinked back in as DollarBillHines. I suspect he was spooked by the fact that we found his real first name, and he bugged out for a while, and now he's back as Link Speed. At least his lies are consistent, so far.

Hollis is a great DUmmy.

Aside from his enormous entertainment value, it's refreshing to read someone who writes so clearly.

His distinctive command of the language is startling, considering that he never attended school for even a single day.

Yeah, I know more than I want to know about shitting one's pants.

Lest any of you DUmbass lurkers think we're exaggerating, here's where Hollis Thomas Wright claims that he was a SEAL on a team that didn't yet exist, and was at his oldest 17 years old when he was on said SEAL team.

If you assfaces want to know why we verify information about you, this might be the canonical reason. You LIE.

Unlike the rest of the chickenshits here, I have actually taken up arms and killed a lot of people in "defense" of our country.

A lot of people (mostly Vietnamese and Laotians).

But I once had the pleasure of pointing an Ithaca 12guage pump at Mr Warner's sternum.

And I got away with it.

For he was just SecNav and I was me.

I just refused a sale to a couple of 'pukes.

Advertisements [?]
This couple was strolling around the Gallery, picking up things and talking about them.

The woman actually held a blown-glass conch shell to her ear and commented to her husband that it "must not be real, because I can't hear the ocean". That's when I decided that they were idiots and not worth any expenditure of energy on my part.

They finally walked up with a shallow Moroccan bowl, a beautiful piece.

When the woman reached into her purse to retrieve a credit card, I noticed a "Sarah in '08" pin affixed to her purse. So I asked her where she got it and she said she made it on her computer (I was, until today, unaware that one could do that).

So I said, "That's a joke, right?".

And she replied that Sarah Palin is America's only hope for salvation.

I pointed to the doors and said, "The sidewalk is right out there. Enjoy your stay in Tiburon".

The husband said they would just like to take the bowl, please.

I told him that the bowl could surely find a better home, and was - for the time being - not for sale.

He asked me if I was really going to turn down a $1,200 sale because of a difference in political ideology.

I did.

You have to love the work ethic of a self-described rich man who still sells Snowbunnies to stay close to the common folk.

Should be pretty easy to demonstrate that this is a lie, too.

20. This is an Eric Taylor song, Tom
   Hi Tom,

My name is Susan, I manage Eric Taylor and Blue Ruby Music & Records.

The song you're calling "Whose God" and claiming to have written is, in actual fact, a song written by my artist Eric Taylor. The real title is "Your God" and is on his Scuffletown CD, released in 2001. We own the copyright and all publishing rights to "Your God" and Scuffletown.

You must own the Scuffletown CD, since we have the lyrics printed in the CD booklet. For those of you on this forum who'd like to hear a 1-minute MP3 of the song, please go to our Blue Ruby Music web site - www.bluerubymusic.com - and go to the "Listen" page. "Your God" is track #8 on the Scuffletown CD.

Tom, I realize that "Your God" is a great song. For legal, ethical, moral, business and personal reasons, I urge you to cease from plagiarizing and attempting to take credit for Eric Taylor's copywritten and legally protected work.

Sincerely,
Susan

How long did good old "dollar bill", last?  A month or two?
Seems Hollis never learns.

The best I can tell DollarBill disappeared around April of this year. Does anyone know if he got tombstoned. The new TiT character looks to have showed up in June or July. Maybe some moley someone will tell us.
