Just because you want to move doesn't mean they have to take you in.

Yep this country is the only one that lets anyone in and hands them food stamps and free healthcare.

Maybe the USA could pay those countries to take the dummies Chris? Don't care how much it costs... I think it would be cheaper for us in the long run.   :cheersmate: :cheersmate:

They're retarded ...(duh).  They act all surprised when they discover - only to be forgotten within 5 minutes - that most everywhere else on earth is more restrictive than we are.

No doubt.

48. They have OTC codine here

But damned if I can find a cold medicine as good as NyQuil here. Night nurse just does not compare. Also have a tonne of Advil from the states as I can't get that here either. :/

Leave it to a DUmmy to pick a country based on the OTC availability of opiates.

For the first time in my life I'm considering changing my primary country of residence.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

That's a great idea. I was there back in 1998 (seems like yesterday, time goes in a blink of an eye) and really liked it. English speaking with beautiful beaches and islands. Even up river is beautiful. The government is pretty stable and non intrusive. Unlike Mexico you can own, really own, beach front property. IIRC, you can own firearms there too. Now wish I had done something.  I'm going to do some nadining on that, thanks.

I am really beginning to think that we need to get out before we can't. Watch how fast a fence goes up around the borders when the Americans want to leave.

This thread reminds me of our old friend TwixVoy, who used to uncrate melon ballers and offer free financial advice at Target.

His plans to become an ex-pat came undone when he discovered Zimbabwe was the only country where he could get a visa.

He switched plans to emigrate to Portugal, where he had an employed son.

That fell through when his son refused to disclose his address in Portugal.

And with that, DUmmy TwixVoy disappeared from the DUmp, never to be heard from again.

Maybe he's living in Zimbabwe.

I see no reason to have to live in your home of birth as long as you remain loyal to it and not give up citizenship to the land.

At on time 20+ years ago perhaps double that many retired military went to live over seas as their retirement went 4 times+ as far.

There are many places in the world that people can retire to and move into a comunity of expats from America and live a good life.

The Brits have been doing this for years, heading out to India, or South Africa, Australia etc.   They do know they may have to pack a small bag and head home when the shit hits the fan but as was said, they go Native for 10 years or more.

I have no problem with Americans heading out to new frontiers as long as their loyalty is to the USA first and fore most.

Our country was founded on people that were looking for a new life, we came from everywhere on earth.  By the time a second generation came about the kids were American, true through and through.   Never experienced the reasons their parents and grand parents fled from oppression.

So anyone that wishes to spend time in another country with the expats. Good for them, they will come home eventually to their roots, or to fight for their birth land.

DUmmies, I heard Haiti is really nice.
