When Barack Obama ran for president in 2008, he ran on a promise to reach across the aisle and work with Republicans to “change America for the better.”

However, since his election, he has instead divided our country even more. In fact, a recent article by JP Morgan’s Chairman of Market and Investment Strategy, Michael Cembalest, finds that Obama is pretty much the least bipartisan U.S. President ever.

Not that anyone here hasn't been seeing or saying this since 2008 but it's interesting to see the context.

In the first term, the people were gradually put in place. In the second term, the plans are being executed by the people put in place during the first term. Now it's too late to reverse the damage to our nation.

I'm not sure if I agree that it's beyond the point of no return.  I do agree that it will take a hell of an effort and a huge shift in cultural tectonics before things get back to the way they should be.
