'It's making children cry': Police tell man to tone down annual charity Halloween display in honour of his grandmother

Quote
A Halloween fan who put up a gruesome display of 'disembowelled corpses' outside his home has been asked by police to tone it down.

James Creighton, 25, was told that his scene was making children cry with its macabre reconstruction of a scene from The Texas Chainshaw Massacre.

He has put the display up outside his house in Stevenage to raise funds for charity every year since his grandmother died in 2009.

It is Halloween. Good grief!

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

This is a religious Holliday in most parts of the world. Hallowed Eve is a return to earth of the spirits of the dead.

Want to see something ghastly head to Central America or parts of Mexico at Easter.   Humans actually have themselves nailed to crosses to be parade through the streets.

We have forgotten the origions of Halloween, Spirits of the woman and men burned at the stake as witches back in the centuries past.

So where did the Trick or Treat come from ??? Scare the children, well this is the the whole point of Halloween, but we have forgotten the roots of this Holiday.

Much like Christmas this has has become less then what it was meant to be.

BTY Dori, have you ever thought of what the children that became our ancestry saw day to day and accepted as normal saw of real life in their time ?

Not sure what you mean.  I don't think they saw chainsaw murders with their guts hanging out on a daily basis.

When I was a kid, decorating your yard for halloween was about corn stalks and pumpkins and parties were homemade costumes, scavenger hunts and bobbing for apples.
