Longing to be a Victim

Quote
These days, being seen as a victim can be useful. You immediately claim the moral high ground. Some people want to help you. Lawyers and politicians brag that they force others to help you.

This turns some people into whiners with little sense of responsibility.

Joe Biden's niece was arrested recently for throwing a punch at a cop. The New York Post says she's addicted to alcohol and pills, but rather than take responsibility for her actions, she blamed them on the "pressure she faces" because her uncle is vice president.

Give me a break. America was founded by people who were the opposite of victims, by people with grit. Overcoming obstacles is the route to prosperity -- and happiness, too.

John Stossel nails it right on the head. A nation victims and whiners.
Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.
-Napoleon Bonaparte

Allow enemies their space to hate; they will destroy themselves in the process.

Private charities are pretty good at separating real victims from malingerers. But government is not. Its one-size-fits-all rules encourage people to act like victims.

....and that is why DUmmies don't want private charities administering such programs.....the DUmmies wouldn't be able to scam them.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Bah humbug Johnny, it is not the government to blame for attempting to help out, it is the responsibility of those individuals that see a loop hole to allow them to live and enjoy life without having to work. Yet they are able to go hiking, fishing, hunting,  bowling, and in some cases caught playing basketball.

I found out that when injured, one with full insurance cannot be made to undergo medical treatment. They can sit back , collect payments from where ever and hope the ailment will go away.---------Strange as it seems but sometimes just bed rest for a few months is needed to recover naturally.
At times diagnoses of a problem are way off, easy to manipulate the doctors into making recommending no work for an indefinite time.

It is the individual that is at fault, they have a drug problem or some other self inflicted problem, made crappy decisions in life and now expect us to pay for their lives as they want them to be.

God helps those that help themselves, I am willing to pay taxes to support those that are in dire need of medical help, but really get pissed at those that refuse to get help when a solution is there for them.

Woman at work fell a couple times at work, busted up her hip and was told she had to loose 50-60 pounds in order to work.  She joined Weight Watchers but for some reason gained another 20 pounds.   She received 6 months of short term disability and a full year of long time disability. A (to me) young woman, 45 perhaps went onto government disability, last time I saw her was at the beach playing volleyball.
