RCP averages show a slight uptick in the Prez's approval ratings, but nothing major...yet. Hopefully the trend will continue (it usually takes a week or so for events to make a difference in the poll averages), but I think the celebrations are a little premature. And yes, I know RCP is a Republican-leaning site, but their polling data is usually sound (or "skewed", as the Tea Party cult would say).

Frank, it's the Rasmussen daily tracking poll.  It's been stuck at 50% for awhile.  

There's something strange going on at Ras.  Scott left his own company about a month ago, leaving it to God knows who to run the daily management.  

King zero's number has been stuck at 50%.  They have asked NO questions about health care.  I wonder if they're even still making phone calls?  They're not publishing their methodology in full, either.  (e.g. what's the partisan weighting?)  

Anyway, Ras seems to be an outlier, as Gallup has Barky at 44% yesterday, 2 points down (and this is a 3-day rolling average).  They update at 1:00 pm.  Let's see what it says then.  

That PLUNGING comment of the DUmmies?  That's not on Ras's report.  They do say however, that 83% believe the country's going in the wrong direction.

Rasmussem is the only one that has Obama's poll numbers at 50% or higher.  Disapproval numbers have been rising since Christmas last year (his approval numbers started slipping a few days before).

Update:  Gallup down another point for obozo, to 43%.  3-day average for 10/7-9.

All the leadership's unfavorables are worse.  In other words, there aren't great flocks running into democrats' arms, DUmmies.

When 83% of the population thinks the country is going in the wrong direction, that's not so good for the party in power. 0bama is the face of the government and represents the country's direction. Just look back at the stats when Carter was president.

Part of the reason the GOP's approval rating is in the tank is because they're no longer working for the people who they were sent there to represent. There are very few differences between the two parties and all of them have become elitists who merely pretend to disagree.

What you guys don't seem to understand is the tone of this situation has changed. The dems, from the president on down, are so busy apologizing for their over-the-top rhetoric, they don't have time to cry racism. The "optics" of the shut down suck for you and 0bama's has had to restore several things he previously closed. His clownish attempts to close the freaking ocean, privately owned historical sites and roads so people can't even view some of thes places from afar, have shown him to be nothing more than an immature partisan hack who throws a tantrum when he doesn't get his way...just like you.

Closing the WWII Memorial while opening up another section of the government to hold a immigration rally with illegal immigrants was probably one of the most asinine things he's done and shown him to be nothing but revengeful and petty, a person who looks for ways to punish people who disagree with him. His legacy, 0bamacare, that the majority of the people never wanted, is an unmitigated disaster. The one guy bragging about now having affordable health care turned out to be a fraud. Most people can't even get into the site. For those that do manage to get in, the unaffordability & high deductibles are causing anger, pain & angst.

Oh, the other thing you might want to keep in mind...when polls ask for what people think of congress, they're thinking of the whole body, not just the House. We're on offense, you idiots. But keep your fantasy, it will make things much more enjoyable for us when reality smacks you in the face.

Impossible. I'm actually surprised he's below 40%, but in any case about 1 in 3 Americans are non-movable with their love lust of Obama. So 37% is near-unanimous, also keeping in mind that the media is actually part of the DNC agenda. For him to be below 40% means there are major problems with the party, not just the president.

Similarly, the GOP has a 29% favorability (inverse from 71% unfavoraibility) rating, even amid the worst recession and worst-functioning government in my lifetime. To put this bluntly, a real, unbiased view would hold that the conservatives are cleaning the clocks out of both the RINO's and the democrats/socialists.

Because of this media bias, the GOP can have much lower popularity ratings. If Obama were a republican, he WOULD be near single digits. Of course, he would have been impeached and most probably indicted, convicted, and incarcerated on any number of felony charges long before now, but I digress.

Conservative voters are sick of RINOs. That's the reason, right there.
