Encountered a teabagger today

I was filling my car with gas today when the attendant came by and struck up a conversation about how I was one the few who followed the signs and entered from the right direction. I mentioned another establishment didn't have problems getting people to enter from one direction. This led to him saying his employer wouldn't spend any money to control traffic, this led into his bashing his employer because they cut everyone's hours to avoid Obama are.

The next sentence out of his mouth gave him away. He said "he shouldn't be forced to buy healthcare."

Then I lost it! Really, I said, you are required to buy car insurance, why not healthcare? He said you don't have to buy car insurance but there was a penalty if you don't. I said yeah, ask the uninsured woman who hit me several months ago. I then said it was wrong that I have to carry uninsured motorist because people don't buy insurance, then before he could respond, I said, who do think pays for those who don't have health insurance -- ME! I pay for all of those ER visits through higher cost at the doctor, hospital and insurance.

He turned and walked away. Hopefully it soaked in. The stupid, it hurts!

 :mental:

I bet what really happened is the DUmmy drove the wrong way and the attendant asked him to follow the signs next time. As the DUmmy drove home he made up the story.

It's because of personal responsibility that we don't need the government to hold our hands through life. There isn't a single member of CC who is living in the "Sally" and dreaming of getting section 8 and food stamps. We all have jobs and pay our own rent or mortgages. WE don't need government telling us that we need health insurance and what kind of coverage we need, we figure that out for ourselves.

This has been a few months ago, but my wife was in a McDonald's drive through when a couple of TP types got behind her. Both our cars have Obama bumper stickers on them and a car with a couple of these idiots started yelling insults at her while she was getting her order. It frightened her.

Had I been there, the outcome would have been much different.

Sure it would have tough guy.  :whatever:

It's a fancy term for a disconnect between what one thinks and what is reality.

Your guy could almost be a picture postcard for cognitive dissonance.

I simply do not understand why so many people think that having health care is so awful. And it's not as though those who think that way actually have the Republican Health Care Plan, by which I mean they never get sick. Often, those who oppose Obamacare, excuse me the ACA, themselves have all sorts of health issues. And whether they themselves have healthcare, be it Medicare, Medicaid, or whatever, they just don't get it that health care ought to be a fundamental right for all.

I'm one of the annoying ones who never gets sick, and I'm crazed by those who don't understand why health care for all is so important. I suppose I should complain that I've been paying into the system all these years and never gotten back even ten percent of what I paid in. But I don't see it that way. I know that my personal excellent health is some kind of a gift, and I should NEVER resent that others "cost me money".

On the other hand, I have a Geek Squad card for Best Buy, and I've used several multiples of whatever it cost me.

Wait until you realize that the 0bamacare isn't free.  :rotf:

No, DUmmy. It isn't.

You are describing "delusion", such as the delusion that the government is concerned with your best interests; or the delusion that Keynesian economic models would lead to long-term prosperity.

You're right, Big Dog.  ShielaTheIdiot did not define "cognitive dissonance" properly.  "Fancy term"  ::)  What a tool.

DUmmies, you're going to have to face reality.  Look at the prices of these plans.  Start with that inconvenient but rather famous San Jose Mercury article.  The math (simple 3rd grade arithmetic) does not work.

It has been many years since I have seen gas under $3.00 what part of the country are you in?

BTW here in Assachusetts the gas tax now automatically raises with inflation so no chance of it ever reaching the $3 threshold.  Right now I am paying $3.69.

If I'm correct this is the first gas station Bouncy in a long, long time. It just needed a "so" to start it off.

And to the DUmmie, you're not require to have auto insurance just because you're alive. There is a difference between auto insurance and Obamacare.

Because, DUmbass, if your health is screwed up because you smoke or live off Big Macs, you can't kill or injure someone else. You just have to buy liability insurance when you drive, for that reason. And who pays for the whole adventure of Obamacare, if not the taxpayers?

Sounds like "lost it" refers to mental faculties, not temper.

Wrong, DUmbass. I can buy a truck and drive it all damn day long, year round, on my OWN property with no tag, no license, and no insurance. If I decide to exercise the "privilege" of driving on publicly-funded roads, I have to meet the requirements set forth by elected representatives carrying out the will of the people who's taxes were used to pay for the roads.

Obamacare, however, is a tax on nothing but ****ing living.

A couple of states still require full service at stations.  However, this could have just been the cashier coming out to tell the DUmass to follow the signs the next time and not impede traffic flow.

FFS, they're not even trying anymore. There was a thread comparing mandated auto insurance to 0bamacare yesterday. So the thought progression, if you can call it that, was cars...gas...gas station...attendant...stupid attendant...0bamacare...and suddenly, boom, you have a bouncy.
