I spotted his WW2 Veteran ball cap, and blurted out to my wife "Look, a WW2 vet", then sat beside him and we started chatting.  He said what he often hears right after what I said is "...and there aren't many of those left."

We talked about his service a little, and mine (retired Navy, 1988), and he said he's always wanted to find the sailor from the landing craft who opened the big ramp at Normandy and shouted at them to jump. "Man, that water was cold!"

His car wasn't going to be ready for awhile, so the service manager came in and said to him "I have a driver ready to take you to lunch, and here's my card.  When you get ready, call me and I'll send him back for you."

Now, THAT is the way to treat a WW2 vet.
This too shall pass.

And I'll be willing to bet you'll be back in that same dealership the next time your car needs servicing.

We bought a new Focus from them last year.  Since my retirement in 1088 1988, the Focus is the 7th new vehicle we've bought from them - two pick ups, and five cars.

They give good service. Allways have, AFAIK.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
