Well, in COLLEGE while I was working on my GRADES to get my DIPLOMA I used to have to buy Lucky Beer (with the rebuses inside the bottlecaps) for $5 a case and Raman noodles 4 or 5 times a week (or homemade el-cheapo Hamburger Helper made from gravy mix).  I had multiple roommates and we made shelves form milk cartons, etc.  I had a 30+ year old car that I held together with gum and bailing wire (and a sign that said "this car runs on gas not friendship").

It never in a million years occurred to me I should BLAME someone for MY situation.  And I went to a richie rich school (I mean RICHIE RICH -- Not Harvard or Yale but one of the West Coast Elite schools.  I didn't blame them (although, I pitied them in a strange way since they didn't understand some of the values I was learning as I went).

Blaming others for making broadly good decisions (if you plot good/bad the trend chart goes upwards) is uniquely liberal.

PS: do you know how I got into that school?  I studied HARD for both HS and the SATs.

Hard work -- that doesn't cut it with DUmmies...

I remember in college spending my last $20 for a book of coupons from Junior's on North Avenue that was worth $22.50 and living off that for a week--no small feat even in the 80's.

I've siphoned gas out of my generator to put into my truck so I could get to work through payday because filing for bankruptcy was NOT an option to me.

Learned to bake bread cause I could not afford it and my roommate and I (friend since HS and still best buddy) ate wish sandwiches. We both had jobs and were in school, split rent on houses cause all out stuff and cars (both of us are car nuts)....we made it cause we worked out ass off. Oh and Micky's was cheep...lol. We did have a place here that at that time was $5 to get in .25 a pitcher for natural light when we were in school, live bands and girls....so well you know where we were on the weekends. Women didn't come knocking door to door so....
