That is the most reasonable thing I've read all day.

 :-) :-) :-)

You know, I'm kind of ticked off.

This looked, this morning, as if it was going to be the headliner in the Lounge on Skins's island, and I was looking forward to the primitive interpretations.

But then suddenly the convenience store primitive announced she'd found us, and all the primitives have been reading that stuff.

On Skins's island, this campfire's now way down, almost ready to be shoved into the second page.

I'm sure Big Bertha's resentful too, that it didn't attract much attention.

So......I went and checked.

On Skins's island, this campfire currently has 130 primitive views, 5 primitive comments.

Here in the DUmpster, this thread currently has 418 views, 25 comments.

If the primitives want feedback to what they've written, I think most of them would be better off just coming over here and posting it for us to read and comment upon; they'd have a bigger, and more appreciative, audience.

Never believed in this dream stuff and read about Abraham Lincoln's Dream the night before he died---Spooky-.

One night after moving into my new home I had a disturbing dream most every night for a week.

Out side the sliding glass doors on the deck stood a man looking in who resembled my EX.  Now EX had been dead 5 or so years so what the heck was he doing in my dream ?

I refused to let him in,  but as he was always been protective of me, I began to wonder what and why I was having these dreams.    They popped up into my mind during the day and were there at night.

I asked about work if anyone had ever had a dream that came true and got an earful.   Most everyone I spoke to said YES and the story's unfolded.   Some told me they never remembered their dreams, others told me of vivid  dreams that not as nightmares still worried them.

Up shot I was worried about security and went to the pound and got a 18 month Rottweiler. Easy going dog, well treated before I adopted her and got along with the cats and the ankle biters we had at the time.

I did wonder at times as the dreams went away the night the dog came into her forever home if this was a warning that my present husband would not protect me, but,  Hubby was a Bear no problem there with protection.

Took a year to find out what was going on, I felt safe and secure with her at my side, believe me she would have tackled an elephant to protect me.    Then she began to change.

Followed me about the house determined to lick my left shin.   Drove me nuts as she was fixated on my leg.

One day out of the blue she head butted me in my shin, oh crap like being hit with a cement block.   I thought she had chipped a bone, EX rays showed a large tumor growing on the bone and seemed the damn thing was munching its way into the bone and growing bigger every day.

Fortunately the tumor was benign and my leg saved with cadaver  implant.

This is all so odd, without my reoccurring dreams would I have gotten a guard dog, why did I choose that dog to adopt?      Have to wonder how and why these things happen.

Far as the woman that dreams of being naked in bed, could be her subconscious is telling her that sleeping with another woman is wrong and not only strangers but the beasts of the field run from her actions.   Something is telling her that her conduct is just not natural to the great design.

Uh, no.

My main dream last night--I dream a lot--was that I was out horseback riding in the wilds of Connecticut with Clare Boothe Luce, George Marshall, Father Divine, and Elsa Maxwell.  Clare and Elsa were arguing about something, but I couldn't catch it, and got frustrated.

That should be as easy as strawberries-and-cream, to analyze; just the usual life-long frustration and vexation at not being able to hear what other people are saying.

A pretty humdrum, run-of-the-mill dream.

Those that do not remember their dreams are to be strange to me.   How much of our time do we spend in REM sleep, not to mention time spent day dreaming, now that is a fun subject.

Most interesting how we can go from one state to another, what the Hell is happening to our minds to take us out of reality ?      My dogs and cats dream, I have been told even fish dream, what is this need for sleep we all have.

A frontier we have not really explored of life on earth.   We have sleep clinics for those with problems sleeping, we all know about people that walk in their sleep, talk in their sleep and children that get what we call night terrors.

Unreal sometimes when reoccurring dreams night after night happen and they remain lucid and real upon awaking, in one matter or form become reality eventually.

What ever subconsciousness is, if there is such a thing, why does it have to enact itself in sleep ???

Then the day dreaming when one goes off to another world so strong that when abruptly awakened at work one actually jumps as reality is forced upon them.   Some call it Deep in thought, sort of like reading a book and being interrupted at the climax of the story.

I don't know how you read but to me I call it falling into the book, I no longer see the words I am mentally in the story, living it, being there and when well written causes emotions to come to me, I cry or feel happy or fear .  A few books has caused me to become so angry I have at the end thrown the book into a wall in frustration.

The mind is so strange, I watch my dog chasing rabbits in her sleep, hear her yelp or wine.

Sorry vesta dear, but as a "stream of consciousness" post, that one was okay, and easy to follow.

I dozed off this afternoon, and vaguely recall a dream I was having lunch with J. Parnell Thomas, Vito Marcantonio, Ann Besant, Samuel Gompers, Admiral Yamamoto, Sir Christmas Humphreys, and Atman.

The others were grimacing and scowling at Atman.

I dunno why, but probably because Atman had probably said something really stupid.

Last night, vesta dear, I had several dreams, but one in particular sticks out.

I was a passenger in an airplane, in a middle seat, with Cordell Hull on one side, and Henry Ward Beecher on the other side, the window side.  The two were arguing about gun-control--that much I got, but nothing else--talking across me to each other, sometimes even shoving me back so that they could go nose-to-nose in front of me.  Cordell Hull had the irritating habit of putting his hand on my shoulder for support, and Henry Ward Beecher had the irritating habit of tapping my right knee-cap when making a point.

From the reaction of the audience around us--people from behind leaning forward so as to hear better, people in front turning around to watch, people on the other side of the aisle breathlessly leaning our direction--I got the impression both gentlemen were full of wit and vinegar, making bon mots, double entendres, puns, limericks, causing the audience to laugh, "yeah-yeah," applaud, and nod in agreement.

But although it was taking place right over, and even on, my body, I could hear nothing of it.

Again, a dream as easy as strawberries-and-cream to interpret.

(By the way, no, I never hear sounds in dreams.  Any dreams.)

Makes sense, I have never tasted raw oysters in my dreams or life myself.

I am 10% color blind I do dream in color but it is the way I see color when awake.

Now symbols are interesting, sight required most times, we walk right past symbols not noticing them or having no idea what they mean.    How often do we really look at all the symbols on our paper money, wonder what else is hidden there.

So some dreams may have symbolic features, say dream you are an Owl and that for some reason is a symbol of wisdom.--- To our culture and perhaps others.

They say that dreams are like a computer, the subconscious raiding thousands of files and mixing them all together.  I believe the mystery of DNA was cracked on a scientists dream.

Then comes in the few that swear they have had out of body experiences while a bed.  Or the old I have been here before feeling.

I solved one mystery the first time I went to SF. I knew what was over a steep hill, Alcatraz in the distance.     Now how would I have known that, took a few years to realize that 3,000 + miles away I had a family that watched Dirty Harry a few time and there was a car  chase on that very hill.  With out conscious thought the what we call flash backs today had put me into an area I had seen on TV a few times and all looked  so familiar.   I had never seen that area before in my life time but the movie had made it very familiar  to me.

I do not believe in goblins and ghosts, don't believe UFOs are from another world, but then when living in Virginia  Beach went to the Casey Foundation on a lark. I had read his books and wondered how this could be true.   Very disturbing, trying to sort out the facts from the myths around him.

Anyone ever read the book that started the fad of past life regression   This set off a brain storm of not just Doctors but people wondering about their own lives.     I admit there is something there with this hypnoses to calm patients, but how and why does this happen.

Can people collectively be hypnotized by a leader or even a used car salesmen find a way to control our minds ?

Mother says this is mass hypnotism of the masses, like a crowd at a rock concert that are mesmerized by the on stage performers and the ultra tec effects.

Yes this is all over the place but one thing leads to another.

Okay vesta dear, give your best shot at analyzing a dream I had last night.

By the way, it needs mentioned that besides dreaming sans sound, franksolich dreams in black-and-white, never color.  But it’s a good quality black-and-white, nice and sharp.

I dreamed it was the spring of 1937, and I was dining at a roadside inn near Cetatea Alba, in Romania.  I was trying to explain to the garcon how a hamburger well-done, pressed down hard on the grill so as to squeeze out every drop of grease, is made, and he was trying to explain to me that it couldn’t be done.

Then this woman came and sat down beside me; I immediately recognized her as Magda Lupescu, and was a little nervous about her, given her connections with certain, uh, high-ranking Romanians.

“I love your accent, darling,” she said; “Johannesburg?”

Actually, the Sandhills of Nebraska, I told her.

She gazed at me.  “Ah, a cowboy; a real cowboy.

“I’ve always wanted to meet a real cowboy; they’re so rugged, so handsome, so manly, so good-smelling, so virile, and so good in be--er, to their women.”  Then she started rubbing my chest.

I pulled back and suggested we order.

She wanted pană de somn rasol but I suggested tocăniţă vânătorească might suit her better.

“Oh my yes,” she agreed; “and then after, we go to your room?”

Uh no, I said; after, we’d order dessert.

I was pretty nervous, because there were a whole lot of grimacing, scowling gendarmes at the tables surrounding us, and remember, she was connected.

She had this habit of sitting real close to me, really close.  Like we were glued together.  She put her hand on the inside of my right thigh, caressing it.

I protested it wouldn’t work; her jugs were as if water balloons, not firm and solid the way they should be.

And besides, her lips were wet.

And then suddenly a Duesenberg with black-tinted windows pulled up….

…..at the same time a clap of lightning jerked me awake (yes, we had some big storms last night).

Now vesta, dear, what do you make of this?

I wonder how a big clap of thundering or lightening  could awaken a deaf man.

Wondering if it is not time for you to get some good sex from a trusted friend.  Been too long my dear and you need some care and loving.   Even with no sex just to sleep with a loved one or spend time with a loved one walking about and being amused at the antics of the cats and wild life together.

I take this as a lonely thing, another human to share a bond, sex aside, a life with another to share your joy and heartbreak.  For the love of GOD, if people do not suit you, get a big dog that will understand you, be at your side and love you as no other person will do.

Your time in history was a time when no one could trust any other, one could not even trust their own family. Reading history you know how that goes.

Get a baby Rottweiler and train him up right, not voice commands but hand signals. Leave it to the instinct of the dog to alert you to people with a devious mind.

When a woman comes to your property of you on the street and pats your humongous dog and the dog falls in love with her, you got a good one.

Reason on why we keep these dogs, they have an some kind of ability to sniff out threats to their master.

While you were checking out her boobs in your dream had you had a dog, he would have been sniffing out the tension from to her.   an interesting dream Frank now I got one of my own for you to figure out.

Oh now, vesta, dear, next time read me a little bit slower; I said "lightning," not "thunder".

When, for a split second, it seems as if the whole world's exploding in a strong surge of light, one doesn't need to hear a thing.  We had big storms here last night, more than 6" of rain, and it's reasonable to assume this particular lightning was very close, perhaps even on this propety, given the number of fallen trees both here and on the vast acreage immediately to the south, the property owned by certain Italianate interests in New Jersey.

And one doesn't even need to see lightning, to have it affect one.

Don't you have any weather up over there in Maine?

Anyway, you missed certain "background" of the dream, which is understandable and forgiveable, given that not everybody knows Romanian history.  (Ooops, sorry for being condescending like the cousin nadin; it just came out.)

There I was, innocently minding my own business, when I attracted (in the dream, not in real life) the attention of a woman.....not just an ordinary woman, but the mistress (later wife) of the king-dictator, a guy who wasn't a very nice guy to begin with, and whose hobby was putting people in jail.

Romanian jails even back then, weren't exactly five-star hotels.

And a liaison couldn't be secret, because the king's bodyguards were right there.

Being a nice guy, one of the nicest guys one can ever hope to meet, one doesn't want to be rude, but on the other hand, this was one of those cases where it's best to extricate oneself from the situation, and run away as fast as possible.

Romania now unless one has relatives from that region or wins a free trip there, not exactly a place of big importance in to days world.

Gypsy's tramps and thieves, at one time long ago a place of beauty and a stark division between the rich and the poor.    Most of what I know is from the Song sung by Cher and a display in the Holocaust Museum in DC. a portrait of a magnificent woman decked out in splendor and a few trinkets that survived the Nazis.

Interesting and fun dream be it sleeping or a daydream.

I take it you really enjoy heading out into the unknown and using your Witt's to survive.  Could be you are tiring of your isolation and have a unknown to you a need to get back into a life that challenges you.

This woman was a challenge to you in your dream, She was alluring and strange, yet you ran from her charms, how were you to know the Evil she represented.   How could you know that others were watching you together?    Have you subconscious fears of being abandoned or rejected by a female you love ? A fear that outsiders, watching  will come between you and a loved one ?

I still believe you need a DOG, faith full and true, that can put aside all fears of rejection  from the world.

Other wise go to OMAHA and get some good sex a few times.
